A particularly hot property. Durant knows his field." The Observer;"Fabulous... children will be fascinated." BBC Parenting Magazine --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

About the Author

Alan Durant is the author of more than forty children’s books. He says, "When I was doing some work with children one time, I met a girl named Lily who had a whole collection of beautifully illustrated letters from the Tooth Fairy. My imagination immediately got to work, thinking about a possible exchange between a girl and the Tooth Fairy and where it might lead. So DEAR TOOTH FAIRY was born." Alan Durant has three young children and lives in Surrey, England.

Vanessa Cabban has written and illustrated several books for children and is also the illustrator of DOWN IN THE WOODS AT SLEEPYTIME by Carole Lexa Schaefer. Of DEAR TOOTH FAIRY, she says, "Everything
was tiny and magical in this story. It was irresistible. I wanted to be Holly." Vanessa Cabban lives in Northumberland, England.

What a delightful book! The story is sweet (ver appropriate for ages 4-8). The story includes little notes, maps, pamphlets, etc. from the tooth fairy! My daughter reads it over and over. The illustrations are wonderful - a very magical, fairy-like theme!

We bought this book for our daughter and neice when they lost their first tooth and had so much fun reading it. Our daughter LOVED it and even wrote a letter to the tooth fairy after reading this book. It is a great interactive book and answers questions that we never even thought of. I highly recommend getting this book!!

This is a wonderful book - my four-yr old (now five) loved it and reads it all the time. The little letters & the "riddler" are just delightful! It is about a little girl named Holly who is reluctant to part with her first lost tooth. She corresponds back and forth with the Tooth Fairy several times until she finally decides to leave the tooth under her pillow & receives a special coin - included in one of the book's envelopes - in return.

My 5 year old son lost his 1st tooth. When we went to look for Tooth Fairy books he didn't like all the "fairies". He wouldn't even consider this book because it was pink. I started reading it and loved it. When I read it to him at home he LOVED it! He got so excited to open the envelopes in the book. He had me play the riddler that came with over and over again. His eyes lit up when he found the gold fairy coin. It is one of his most requested storytime books. Highly recommend!

I love love love this book. Has good humor, and is very creative. it's a back and forth between the tooth fairy and a little girl who has just lost her 1st tooth. each page has a letter or note, some have actual envelopes you can open with little letters or leaflets or other surprises inside. My daughter just adores this book- i bought it for her as soon as she got her 1st loose tooth. I must say though, this book seems geared towards girls. I have already bought a 2nd copy for my daughter's friend's bday.

My granddaughter is 6 1/2 yrs old, and just beginning to lose her teeth. This interactive book is written so well, and the illustrations draw both child and adult into the story. The challenge of reading it together is just perfect for my first-grader. She will go to the book every time she's about to lose a tooth. My only criticism is the microscopic size of type used on the inserts -- very difficult to read, in the best of light.

Love it!! Such a great story. Only problem is that now our "tooth fairy" needs to also leave notes!!! And I had to make up a story as to why they don't really leave hold coins with a tooth fairy embossed on them....super cute story though, my daughter loved it.

We read this book all of the time, even when there is not a tooth loose in the house. My son loves all of the little letters written from the tooth fairy and the special coin in the back is like the holy grail, lol. It truly is an endearing and enjoyable book, even for myself. Love to see my son get excited to read this book. Highly recommend, even for little boys!
