The only grammatical error I found was "between she and David." I did question some minor details. Would a nurse be likely to get a Diet Coke, when she was having trouble sleeping? How did her dog chew up her sandal and leave it under the kitchen table, when he had been locked in the garage? And, irises are not ususally cut for a vase, because each bloom only lasts a day, and they look ragged quickly. The cover doesn't show Meredith as a light, strawberry blond, either.
I found the characters believable and very real. Although I got frustrated with Meredith's failure to take a chance on David, I could understand her reluctance. She confused him. Sometimes she seemed to care, and sometimes she seemed to treat him like a plague. I didn't like it when she intentionly made it hard on him when he gave blood at her station. To me, this didn't match with her professionalism or her caring nature. I did like the clean, Christian content. It is refreshing to not cringe over pervasive profanity or explicit sex. All in all, there was a lot to like and not much to dislike with this book. I thought it was entertaining, realistic, and a very good read.
I enjoyed the story very much. As I said, I could easily relate. I know the physical and emotional toll a night-shift a few days a week can do; I understand the chaos of a puppy in the midst of life. And, once upon a time, I had someone I cared about, who 'tossed me aside' much as David did with "Merrie", head back in to my life as if nothing had ever happened. My story turned out much differently but I shared all that to say, this is realistic; it is hard to let someone back in once they've hurt you like that. It is tough to want to be with them, but never know if they'll just leave again. I enjoyed the way David had turned his life around and came back to the one person who loved him most; through everything.
Beautiful, romantic story that I highly recommend. Look forward to readin more from this author.
Their story was full of angst on Meredith's part because she was convinced David hadn't change. David's angst came from not understanding why she was behaving the way she was and why she didn't understand that he wanted to reconnect with her.
There is zero sex in the book obviously because it's a Christian romance. That's what makes this book a must read. You get a glimpse into the lives of several of Meredith's friends and coworkers and you're able to see how faith is something really wonderful to have.
