This is another one of Liz Lucas Cozy Mysteries. I enjoyed the story and the characters. I had no problems following either one. I have read a few of Dianne Harman’s Cozy mysteries and have love them all. She does an excellent job on her story and characters. The police chief of Red Cedar calls Liz for help. His deputy is dead and he maybe the prime suspect. Now the police chief is know around town for giving out speeding tickets, does anyone like him? There are several suspects for the murder of the deputy and it keeps you on your toes trying to figure out the killer. There is also a psychic who is a tarot card reader, do you believe in the cards? Will Liz have time for her sleuthing to help the sheriff find a killer? Ms. Harman has also added some recipes in the back of the book along with another surprise.
I was given a copy of this book for my honest review ,which I have given
Liz Lucas finds herself trying to solve another murder but this time the Sheriff asks for her help since he finds the body of his deputy. He looks to be the prime suspect this time around.
Liz must deal with a psychic who the sheriff is smitten with, her mysterious brother and gambling henchmen. Who really want the deputy dead even his former ex wife is thrown in the mix as she is dating the psychic’s brother.
With the aid of Roger who has his own surprise for Liz, they uncover the killer and their motive. This is another winner by Dianne Harman as we empathize with our heroine along the way. We cannot wait for the next installment.
Enter all the suspects and the list is long, Leroy's ex-wife Donna, his bookie Rat face, an ex-felon Rice, Anton (brother of Madame Dika the Tarrot Card reader) and who is in love with Donna. You need a cheat sheet, but its easy reading.
Seth's alibi is Madame Dika, do you trust someone who reads Tarrot Cards to provide an alibi?
The other story line is the continued story of Liz and Roger's romance. Some great surprises.
