Shonell Bacon has penned every writer's worst nightmare: what if we had to face some of the convoluted plots we spend our waking (and dreaming) hours on?
What if your husband, who was having an affair, ended up dead? What if he wasn't all that he seemed to be
What if you and your fiercely loyal sassier-than-you twin sister, who has a thang for the detective investigating the case, became suspects?
Cheyenne "Chey" Parham and Jovan "Jo" Parham-Anderson, deeply spiritual twin sisters in crime, become embroiled in a mystery when--after a noirish beginning involving a wealthy couple in a troubled marriage--Jo discovers her hostile husband is cheating on her. His success in technology versus her success in writing has given the moody Cordell the excuse his sorry self needs to belittle Jo. Cheyenne, a loyal twin, doesn't like it one bit. Then Cordell winds up dead after another murder close to home. Closer than anyone thinks...
I won't give away any more plot details. Suffice it to say that Shonell Bacon knows how to tell a good story, and I loved the strong protagonists Jovan and Cheyenne as well as their sisterly bond and deep religious faith, which comes through on every page in the most sincere way. A fun, emotional, at times dark but ultimately hopeful read.
DEATH AT THE DOUBLE INKWELL is a very fascinating mystery that keeps you wondering who can be the culprit. Who was doing all these unpleasant things? The characters are well developed and it is easy to see how any of them could be guilty. It is well worth reading if you are a fan of mysteries.

The twin writing partners, Jovan and Cheyenne were both entertaining and real. I also enjoyed the eclectic mix of supporting characters which added flavor and multiple dimensions to the story. Want to know what two super sleuths must do when they find themselves knee deep in their own murder mystery? I suggest you check out Death at the Double Inkwell.
I'd recommend this book for the reader who likes to be intrigued. Whether you read mysteries or not, this is a great fast-paced read that you'd enjoy. I'm looking forward to reading Into the Web next.
I enjoyed the love story that was erupting and the mystery that the story held...as soon as I thought I had it figured out I was proved wrong.
Ms. Bacon did a very good job on this well written fast paced mystery...I will be checking out more of her work.
