Death Hub is a dark and thrilling work of medical suspense fiction, penned by author and MD Edwin Dasso. The seventh book in the Jack Bass Black Cloud Chronicles returns us to the intrepid medical investigator Jack Bass as he works tirelessly to uncover the dark secrets of new technology. Featuring explicit content and violence suitable for mature audiences only, this thriller novel takes us within the world of the military trained MD as he engages two of his favorite students from the past, only to discover he has put them all in grave danger. What machines will be discovered, and can they be used for good or only pure evil?
I enjoyed every moment of this exciting thriller novel, which works absolutely fine as a standalone despite being part of a continuing series. It certainly made me curious to find out more about Jack's past in Iraq and how he met his students the first time around. Author Edwin Dasso writes with clarity and an eye for detail, giving us the clean lines of cold, austere machinery juxtaposed with the literal blood, sweat and tears of our Jack Bass. The intermixing of military, action, suspense and medical thriller genres makes for some great atmospheric moments in the plot, and the storyline itself is well constructed so as not to give away too much of the mystery at once. Overall, Death Hub is a really satisfying thriller novel that is certain to entertain fans of the likes of Lee Child and Tom Clancy.

With all the new technology in the medical and other fields this story was an eye opener to what could happen if we rely solely on AI to control all facets of medicine in a hospital. The author who is a doctor used his expertise to extend this thriller into hyperdrive at the frightening aspects that the doctors in this hospital were up against.
Two of the characters who are doctors, Mark and Misty (a married couple), discover some discrepancies in medicine that is being given to their patients that caused adverse reactions. This leads to more problems with robotic devices acting strangely and another doctor is suspect in tampering with the computer programs that control these devices. When Mark and Misty can’t solve the mystery on their own they turn to Dr. Jack Bass who has had issues with strange occurrences at this hospital and survived. He comes to their rescue and puts in his experience to the test.
I thoroughly enjoyed the characters in this thriller especially Dr. Bass. He is not afraid to take on the establishment. This is the only book I have read in this series but will not be the last. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a medical mystery that will keep you intrigued until the satisfying ending.
Following is the review that I wrote upon starting the collection, and reading Death Hub in the collection.
"So far, I've only finished the first book in this collection, and it was great. I've read a few others in the Jack Bass Black Cloud Chronicles collection and was very happy to find the latest book in the series as part of Do No Harm: Seventeen Medical Thrillers. If this book is an indication of the books to follow, this is a fantastic collection."
