Editorial Reviews

Review

I must say this is one of the few times that a crime novel has put such a smile on my face. Jim McGrath has interwoven a great story, realistic dialog, smooth pacing, and three terrifically likeable characters in A Death in Winter: 1963.
Written with humour and a lightness that's uncommon in crime novels, this story moves at a good pace with the depth
of characterization that will keep you turning the pages.
Gail Thompson - NetGalley

The characters of Clark, ex-army, and Collins, smart but naive, are an inspired creation. Their banter is amusing and already they seem like an established partnership after a few novels, rather than the brand new partnership they are. I loved the linear plot and the logical way it plays out as more information becomes available.
Elaine Tomasso - Amazon.com

The story takes place in 1963 in Handsworth, England. It is a police p rocedural without DNA, cell phones and political correctness. It has its own unique charm reflective of the area and the time period which helps to set it apart from the routine police procedurals. If you want a good read that combines mystery with believable characters, old-fashioned work ethics, and enjoyable plot lines read this book. I think that you will be hooked.
