Editorial Reviews

Some highlights from Amazon Customer reviews:

-"...quirky, and different, and funny... reminiscent of Hitchhiker's Guide, and has shades of Firefly. There's lots of action, but really great character development, too.
-"a smart-assed yarn from start to finish. Nice to be in the hands of a word artist."
-"...not the normal run of the mill space adventure... No, its so much better. Thanks PK it was awesome... can't wait for a follow up."
-"Enjoyed this book immensely. With Discworld now defunct I have been searching out books to fill the void."
-"The action is non-stop and the dialogue and interaction between the two is what really makes the story for me... The bodies pile up. What a blast!"
-"Enjoyed the repartee between Qil and Blaik, fast paced exciting new weapons, finished the book in one sitting..."
-"Fans of Discworld will most likely enjoy the tongue-in-cheek humor and feel of the book..."
-"The plot is fast and furious ... The two main characters (the drifter, and the "mean lady") are a lot of fun, and the relationship between them is amusing
-"Thoroughly recommended. Fast and fun. Can't wait for more."
-"...a believable lead character. And bad guys you just want to shoot!"
-"Loved it all but especially the non-hero Williym Blaik."
-"Great fun. Steam punk, western, sci-fi shoot-em-up. No frills, but with just enough meat on the bone to be more than a succession of action set-pieces."

From the Author

I began writing Death to the Witch-Queen at a time when I had just lost my A-list literary agent due to my inability to come up with a manuscript with mass commercial appeal. In the wake of that, I decided to just write something that I liked without regard for whether anyone else did. Mixing about five different genres? Fine, sure. Under the ideal novel length because it's all action with no padding? Great, no problem. Characters and situations that are weird as &^%? Bring 'em on. I even threw in some damn dragons. With riders! Why not?

Give it a shot. If you're into SF that is lighthearted in tone but still epic and capable of taking turns into darkness, like Firefly or Guardians of the Galaxy, there's a good chance you'll enjoy Witch-Queen. It has NO pretensions, NO melodramatics, NO existential angst, NO deep philosophizin', NO fancy literary references (unless you count maybe a teeny bit of Wizard of Oz...), NO talky-talky plot. It's just a fast-moving good time full of what I think are some pretty original ideas.
