While still very young, Brooke and Angel are left orphans when their sheriff father is killed. The person who is responsible is a fifteen year old prospect with the Soulless Bast*rds MC called Declan but there is a lot more to this story. The story continues years later...
Declan is the Vice President of the Soulless Bast*rds MC, he lives and breathes for his club where rules were made to be adhered to rigidly. His first impression of Brooke as a young woman is one that surprises him a bit but then she goes on to do this on a regular basis. They have a definite chemistry together and the fireworks between them certainly ignites however there is more intensity to their feelings.
Lurking behind in the background is something you can feel about to explode into action, the tension building up and the mystery is very intriguing and makes you sit on the edge of your seat. As with all MC clubs the brotherhood is strong and these characters all grow on you as you read along.
This is a fast paced book and extremely easy to read, after the last couple of books I have read it is like a breath of fresh air! I look forward to reading about Mayhem in the next book.
In this one, we have Declan, the VP of the Soulless Bastards, and his neighbor down the street, Brooke. Two broken people for two completely different reasons are drawn to one another. Because of a silly dare.
Of course, it wouldn't be a gritty MC book unless there were bad guys (okay, guys worse than the club itself, because while they call themselves the Soulless Bastards, they've ALL got huge hearts!), lots of steamy times and angst that comes from an alpha man and a strong woman who calls him on his stuff. I totally loved this one and cannot wait to read more in this series!
I couldn't get past the first few chapters. The male mc threatens the female mc by rubbing his gun all over her and telling her friends to stay away from his club. The friends are rightly scared and leave while female mc is still in his clutches (seriously, she needs better friends). Apparently she finds this a turn on, because he asks if she would let him do her with his gun since she finds it so sexy. She says yes, and he gives it to her with his gun (without unloading it) right there in front of her friends house and she apparently finds it hot (instead of, at the very least, rude) because she finishes in like 10 seconds.
Aside from the fact that on most handguns you have peep sights and a safety and other very not smooth objects that would make it very uncomfortable to shove up your lady bits, which makes this a little unrealistic imo, it just isn't my cup of tea either.
Maybe this is the only scene like that and the rest of the book is the hot, sexy book I come to like in a MC novel, but I just couldn't get beyond this scene and deleted the book from my library.
Erin is at it again!! I loved this book. This is a steaming hot read, with danger just around the corner. I fell hard for Declan who was raised in the MC lifestyle. And Brooke is one bad as* lady. She doesn’t take crap from anyone, yet the minute she meets Declan all bets are off. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I can’t wait for Mayhem the next book in this series.

I enjoyed it, DECLAN contained all I enjoy in an MC romance, sassy heroine, an Alpha male domineering character, club business, a family type of MC and the romance leads to plenty of hotness and a hea.
Some things within the plot made me stop and second guess what I was reading, one being when Declan and Brooke first meet early on in the book, basically Brooke is at her friends house who lives across the road, they are having a girly night and she is dared to go to the biker compound at the top of the street and ask for a beer. The club house is obviously having a party with the music blaring from it and when Brooke does go to the gates she is confronted by the VP of the club Declan, they get it on quite quick? like up against a wall sort of thing then before you know it, it's like ok now I'll just go then thanks for the orgasm?. Also, how has Brooke never passed any bikers before or know any of them when the compound is at the top of the street? Brooke went from a strong sassy character, to quickly going way down on my estimation of her character in that first scene with Declan, probably just as quick as her orgasm was.
A story of fate, acceptance and finding your one true soul mate.
I had a few issues with the plot in this book but as I have stated it was an OK MC romance and I would definitely give this authors books another go as other characters did pique my interest.
Did I say I loved this, I can't wait to read more in the series, the next one being Mayhem's story.
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
Brooke meets Declan, when she’s dared to go to the MC Clubhouse. Declan is VP of the Soulless Bastards MC NoCal. He’s unlike anyone she’s ever met before...
From the start their attraction for each other is off the charts...
Both characters have had really rough pasts though, and have lots of obstacles to face together...
Can they overcome everything? Will they have future together?
