Early in his career Keith Tippett dabbled in many forms of music and recorded with a frenzy. His small free jazz unit was ever changing in personnel but always reliable for GREAT music. This is the best of the bunch!

For your information: This album DOES NOT feature the British vocalist Julie Driscoll [nee Julia Tibbetts]! Keith Tippets does provide his usual blend of free form jazz, rock and other assorted goodies and several of the accomplished Tippetts album do include the vocals of his wife. It still is great music with excellent players. Julie Driscoll [Tippetts] made her bones with British keyboard giant Brian Auger and all of their music remains terrific. Again Keith Tippetts is a truly bgreat pianist, composer, arranger of rock, classical and free jazz!

The players on this CD are all excellent musicians and they play with consummate skill and intensity, but what is the final result? If you have an overly relaxing life and you want to wind up - then buy this. I've heard Kieth Tippett with King Crimson and his playing brought the opposite effect to the group's intense music. In other word, he brought a balance to it. I was hoping for more of that style. That's why I bought it. It's not the quality of what is played, it's just the style. I was expecting something else. When I sit down to listen to music, I want to get some diversion from the hectic world - not the opposite.
