Thematically, I found the poems had a striking honesty on the artist's own struggles and revelations, depressions, 21st century life, self-obsession, and social equality. Personal favorites included The Glass, Australia Day, My Life is Art, and Ignorance.
There are poetic rants against the vacuous vanity of taking selfies, the need for attention through the art of social media and how mundane that platform has made our like look. However among the set are also some caustic asides to our existence and a genuinely insightful nod to mental health.
The main thing that impressed me was the quality. I have seen some poetry books that are just terrible. They have five poems and are just thrown together. These poems flow. They have a natural depth to them that made me think the writer might be a rapper. I could imagine some beats behind these words.
I was given a copy of this book by the poet for an honest review.
