Top notch cooler

I ordered this cooler to replace my modified Noctua NH-U12A with Phanteks T30 high speed (3000rpm) fans for an undervolted 13900KF at 5.6ghz with HT disabled and efficiency cores enabled at 4.3ghz. That setup was effective, but the noise was out of this world. The Deepcool Assassin IV provides better performance than my previous cooler due to having two towers instead of one, as well as FAR more quiet operation. In fact, I can't even hear the fans on the Assassin IV over my case fans (Fractal Torrent RGB) even when its running at max rpm. It's incredible that an air cooler can keep a furnace CPU like the 13900KF under control at such a low ambient decibel rating.

One thing to keep in mind about the Deepcool Assassin IV is that the default fans are set in a pull-pull configuration, which is rare. This makes the cooler hungry for airflow, so if you have a small case with poor ventilation, then it may not perform well. Cases that have a good positive air pressure setup (meaning more intake fans than exhaust fans) will enable the Assassin IV to perform at maximum cooling capacity.

-Air cooling a Ryzen 9 5900X (AM4 Platform), with an ASRock motherboard, RAM clearance isn’t an issue.
-Cooler is so sleek, it’s nice not to visually see a fan
-140mm & 120mm fans are nice and hidden and do a pretty good job cooling
-I’m not the person to ask about fan noise cause I care about cooling than noise.
-I’ve owned Notcua NH-D15 and BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler. In comparison, they’re pretty close in cooling performance. It’s hard to say which one is better as they all perform within the same range. At this point, it’s definitely in competition with the big dogs. It’s now an esthetic reason on which you’d like to get.
-Nice having an option for a more silent mode with a switch built into the cooler basically charging the RPM range.

Im so glad I decided to get this over a Noctua DH-15, It looks significantly better and cost less! Its a monolithic cooler with a absolutely stunning design and it looks lovely in my blackout aircooled build. I have noticed nobody is posting their temps in the reviews so ill share mine! heres some info about my rig so you have a better idea about my cooling.

Ridiculously quiet, very good cooling

I got this for my Ryzen 3900X buildbecause the stock prism wraith was really irritating in noise level. I went from 55dB next to my computer case under casual use (Just browsing, emailing chatting) to 42dB! On top of the decreased noise the fan noise is less "piercing" so even under load when the fans are spun up, it's more consistent with the other fans in the case, so it's less irritating in pitch; and the full load noise is significantly lower as well. The primary goal here was to get the noise down, and I succeeded in that! As a secondary benefit the temperatures dropped about 8 degrees under extended full load (Compile the linux kernel version 5.6 with all modules built, 24 threads), from 72C to 64C. Neither of those temperatures were too bad for this chip and neither would cause thermal throttling, but an 8 degree improvement is none-the-less good because it means I can run the other fans a lower (Quieter!) RPM. It also idles about 5 degrees cooler (34-35C vs 40C), but measuring a cooler by idle temp is kind of a useless measurement...

As far as fitment... It's a big chunky cooler, so I know other people will have the same questions I had... Does it fit with X configuration... So I'll post my configuration and go into some details. It doesn't seem to interfere on the ASUS B-450F with the top graphics card slot or the top PCI-E 1x slot, but it does hang over my ram. I have 64GB (4 sticks) of Crucial Ballistix DDR4-3200 (BL2K16G32C16U4B), so it will fit over that for those of you looking for that info. It also JUST barely fits into my Corsair Carbide 200R case... I think the "spoiler" (The silly plastic thing on top that goes level with the tops of the fans) may be may be in contact with the side cover on my case, but the case still closes fine without effort, so it may not be touching. So I will warn anyone with a 200R, this is the cooler to use, not the slightly taller Noctua (The noctua is 2mm taller according to their specs)... Which was my concern and why I bought this and not that.

Installation was pretty straight forward, the directions were well written, well drawn, and easy to follow. Everything you need to install it was included in the box, including plenty of thermal paste (More than enough for one application), a wipe to get the old thermal paste off, and a card to spread it (Which you may or may not choose to do). It was also nice that the screws included tension springs, which helps prevent over tightening (If you're truly determined you could probably overtighten it, so don't be the hulk here). The installation hardware seemed pretty well machined, and it all just fit together with no fiddling around with anything. One thing I'll mention, it's a big chonker, so it may interfere with your ability to get to your fan headers easily so I would plug in any fans BEFORE installing it (Not mentioned in the directions, but you should know). Although it doesn't hang over my fan headers, based on other fan placement in my case and where they are in my board it cuts down on clearance significantly.

The included long #2 philips magnetic screw driver was a nice touch, I would assume plenty of people don't have a long enough one to reach down between the fins and tighten those screws... So good on them. It wouldn't be the first screw driver I'd reach for, but it's very nice for a freebie.

So it is waaaaay too big. I made it fit. I set one of the 140mm fans in the center, but there was no way to fit one on the side of the cooler. Either the rear panel of the mobo was in the way, or the ram was in the way. I took the 120mm off the back and stuck that to the front of the cooler and it sits above the ram. Makes me wish I didn't have any RGB on the ram. It's below the cooler anyway, so hidden and pointless, but also that height is in the way of the fan. Gskill Ripjaw would fit under the 140mm fan. It was imperative to get the fans to fit in the same body size of the fins as anything over would not allow the case to shut, as the top touches the glass panel. This thing is too big for many cases. Also, it works well. The spire that came with the 5600X was not cutting it anymore, and maybe the thermal paste was just old and crusty and needed replacing, but this thing is keeping the temp around 68°C while running The Witcher 3 DX12 in 4K, and yeah much of that is the GPU, but it is CPU heavy too. 2 days ago the computer would overheat and shut down. Could have just been the paste, but I know this is going to keep this cpu cool, and the next one, and the next one. This is the last cooler I will ever need. I'll just need the brackets that fit new mobos of the future. It was really easy to install. Easier than the stock cooler, so that was great. Attaching the fans was easy, just tough to get them in above the ram.

Partiamo dal presupposto che non sono un fan dei dissipatori a liquido e che in tutte le build che realizzo utilizzo solamente dissipator ad aria (prevalentemente della Noctua)

Dopo aver letto una infinità di recensioni su questo Deepcool Assassin III mi sono deciso ad acquistare questa "bestia di dissipatore" (invece del solito Noctua NH-D15) per la mia seconda "workstation" basata su un Ryzen 5950X montato su una Gigabyte X570S Aero G.

Partiamo dall'inizio:
Il dissipatore arriva in una confezione ben fatta con tutte le dotazioni che ci si aspetta quando si acquista un prodotto premium di questo tipo (incluso uno splendido cacciavite con punta magnetica). La doppia torre è realizzata a regola d'arte. I materiali sono ottimi e il design minimale, sobrio ed elegante. Bella la rifinitura nera on top (con Noctua si paga a parte!).

Il montaggio è risultato molto semplice.

Per dissipatori di questo tipo non ci sono molte cose da fare per quanto riguarda il supporto alle RAM. La massima altezza supportata per i banchi è di 32mm. Se le vostre memorie hanno una altezza maggiore, dovete per forza di cose montare la prima ventola con un minimo di sbalzo. Nel mio caso ho optato per 4 banchi Corsair LPX da 16GB 3600Mhz per avere il minimo impatto.

Anche le dimensioni del dissipatore non sono da poco. E' alto 165mm (con le ventole in linea). Se come nel mio caso la prima ventola è leggermente rialzata dovete tenerne conto relativamente al case che avete a disposizione (comprate questo dissipatore solo se il vostro case vi garantisce almeno una altezza di 170mm). Personalmente avendo montato tutto in un Phanteks ENTHOO PRO non ho avuto ovviamente problemi.

Infine le prestazioni: Ottime, al livello del Noctua NH-D15. Se come nel mio caso sostituite le ventole in dotazione (che sono comunque ottime anche se un filo rumorose per delle ventole standard - non industriali) potete ottenere risultati sorprendenti.

Nel mio caso, proprio perché il rumore non è importante (ma ho bisogno di raffreddare), ho sostituite le ventole Deepcool con delle Iceberg IceGALE Xtra 140mm ottenendo un abbassamento delle temperature anche di 5/6 gradi in tutti gli scenari. Per chi non conoscesse le ventole potete leggere la mia recensione qui sul sito di Amazon. Sono delle bestie (al livello delle Noctua Industrial ma più economiche).

Per concludere questo Deepcool Assassin III è stata una sorpresa. Bello e performante. Costa ma la qualità si paga. E' un po' massiccio e impone dei limiti durante l'assemblaggio ma rispetto ad un AIO vi durerà per sempre senza crearvi nessun problema.

Ich hatte mir ein neues PC Case zugelegt und in dem Zuge dann auch einen neuen Lüfter geholt. Ich wollte hier von meiner alten Wasserkühlung, die nach einigen Jahren Dienst leider an Leistung verloren hat wieder auf einen Luftkühler wechseln. Diese halten sich da quasi endlos.
Der Assassin IV hatte sich durch das doch etwas andere Design sehr abgehoben auch wenn der Preis schon im Segment von Wasserkühlungen liegt.
Die Montage war extrem einfach und durch einschub/anclippen der Lüfter viel angenehmer als die normalen Metallclips.
Die Kühlleistung für meinen Ryzen 7 5800x3D hatte ich dann mit Cinebench und dem Stresstest aus CPU-Z getestet und nach einer Stunde Laufzeit war die höchste Temperatur auf einem einzelnen Kern bei 77,8°C während dieser durchgehend mit 4,45GHz lief. Für einen Hitzkopf wie die AM4 Zen3 Prozessoren ein sehr gutes Ergebnis ist. Es wurden nur die 2 enthaltenen Lüfter genutzt, es liegt noch ein Rahmen dabei um theoretisch noch einen 3. Lüfter anzubringen.

Wenn man eine extrem gute Kühlleistung haben möchte und etwas mehr Geld in die Hand nehmen will, macht mit diesem Lüfter keinen Fehler.

...wird bei hohen Drehzahlen recht deutlich hörbar.

Die Kühlleistung ist gut, aber nicht überragend, ein Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 kühlt meinen Ryzen 9 5950X, der mit PBO bis zu 230W zieht, für deutlich weniger Geld genauso gut und ist dabei leiser.

Der Assassin IV hat aber auch seine Vorteile: er sieht sehr clean und edel aus und überdeckt nicht die RAM-Slots.
Montage und Verarbeitung sind ebenfalls top.

Wem aber die Optik weniger wichtig ist, wer und nur einen Top-Kühler für wenig Geld sucht, der ist hier definitiv an der falschen Stelle.

オフセット仕様に価値を見出せるか次第

Style: Assassin IVVerified Purchase

9,980にて購入。15,000は超えると踏んでいたが、発売開始記念だったのだろうか。

タイトル通り、この製品の価値はメモリの自由度に価値を見出せるか次第だと思う。
ファンがプル構成のためか、ケース内のエアフローを適切に管理しないと（特にアイドル時は）性能を発揮できない。
また、エアフローを整えた上でも、ASSASSIN IIIの方が冷える結果になる。
ASSASSIN IIIの方が静かで適当に扱っても冷えるので、手放しでオススメはできない。
それぞれにメリットはあるので、後継機ではなく棲み分けできる商品と考えるべき。

温度については、アイドル時はIIIより3〜5℃位高いが、負荷がかかるとIIIとの差は縮まってくる。
レスポンスは良くないが、受け止められる熱量自体は多く、それが上限に届く訳でもない。
アイドル時含め、兎に角最高に冷えるのが良いという訳で無いなら、メモリの自由度や背面ファンが不要な点も含め、決して悪くはない。

総じて商品としては良いものだが、ASSASSIN IIIの後継機としての名前で評価を落としているとは感じる。
AK500の後継か、IIIの亜種のような存在として出ていれば、評価もまた変わってきただろうか。
