Defining the Principles of War

As a former SF officer who served with three special units, two in RVN and as a ComSec officer responsible for TS information with special compartments, It is just plain painful to witness the failures of Obama/Clinton in disregarding the first principle of warfare which is to recognize and define the threat. Dr. Gorka is a master spokesman and articulates the threat, defines the enemy and offers common sense solutions. i have urged my Congressman here in Texas to read Dr. Gorka's book and to urge his colleagues to do the same.

An OK Book

The book was OK but nothing exceptional. Most of the book covered the history of Islam and Jihad which is fine if you haven't been following this threat for the past 15 years. Gorka's solutions are reasonable but nothing new and nothing that hasn't been stated in many other books on the subject. Subtract the Appendix information and the listing of resources and the book is only 144 pages long. I guess I expected a little more.

I saw Sebastian Gorka on television, read a sample, and finished his book on July 4th. Full of references and www sources, the book serves as a theoretical guide to understanding the LONG history of jihadists, Internally consistent, the book gives me hope that the USA can stand up to and defeat jihadists. Each of us must do our part to understand the basis of our free nation, and to speak up on a daily basis. The Kindle edition made it difficult to read the original documents offered as primary sources from the Cold War with Russia. Gorka's personal, family history makes me appreciate the enormous commitment by those who stand for freedom.

Every American should/must read this book. It reminds you that freedom is fragile. There are always people who want to control you for their own purpose. Be alert. Separation of Church and State simply means the US Govt will not establish a state religion. THAT IS ALL!. If a criminal goes into a Christian Church or a Jewish House of worship or a Mosque, the authorities can still pursue the person. An American is an idea. It is not from where you came from, not about your religion, not about the color of your skin. It is about you as an individual, about your liberty, about the fact that you elect people to govern. The government works for you! Read it to know exactly how you can stay free.

Gorka clearly knows whereof he speaks. The information was enlightening. As to the title, I was hoping for suggestions on ways that the world can "defeat jihad." I expected that after the historical background and the information about events today the erudite author would offer more pointers on the direction that peace-aspirants could manage the future.
