David Brog insightfully explores the rich foundations of many of our nation’s most important values and makes a compelling case for why they are worth defending.”
Senator Joseph Lieberman
In Defense of Faith is an extremely important book. David Brog connects the historical dots in a way that makes the Judeo-Christian contribution to our civilization stand our in clear relief. Rarely have critics of our religious heritage been taken on so effectively.
Pastor John Hagee, Senior Pastor, Cornerstone Church; Founder and Chairman, Christians United for Israel
"Judaism and Christianity have different theologies. But the Judeo-Christian value system is the greatest value system ever devised. As one who has argued this for decades, I can say with some certainty that David Brog has accomplished something truly major with his book. He has made the caseirrefutably, I believethat the rejection of the Judeo-Christian idea has led and will again lead to vast human evil and suffering. This is more than an important book. This is an indispensible guide to a better world."
Dennis Prager, nationally syndicated radio talk show host and columnist, author, and founder of the Internet based Prager University
"Christians have something to cheer about in David Brog's courageous new book. Wide-ranging and erudite, he offers a much needed corrective to the conventional wisdom on Christianity's historic role in combating evil. This is an informative and inspiring volume that people of faith can profit from for many years to come."
Bill Donohue, President Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights
"David Brog frames a passionate and persuasive defense of our Judeo-Christian tradition in a manner that transcends culture, creed and ideology. In his first book, David encouraged us to Stand with Israel. Now, he's motivating us to run to apply our evangelical ethos for the sake of humanity at large. This is a timely message that I hope will help rally America's Hispanic faith community to step forward and lead the effort to act on our faith in the service of our fellow men."
Reverend Samuel Rodriguez, President National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference Rodriguez

It is important to clarify the premise of this book. Nowhere in this volume did I find my atheist beliefs challenged. "In Defense of Faith" makes no attempt to convert its reader to religion. However, if you happen to hold dismissive attitudes towards the indispensable role Judeo-Christian faith has played (and continues to play) in the moral evolution of Western culture, (as promulgated by the likes of Hitchens and Bill Mahar), then my friends, prepare to have your views on this important matter be shaken to the core. I found that Brog not only has the intellectual chops to go toe-to-toe with religion bashers like Hitchens, but in the battle of ideas, succeeds in landing the KO in the very first round
To be sure, Brog's ambitions here go well beyond the mere rebutting of any particular author. Brog is not only a top drawer writer, but is first and foremost a student of history. His enlightening historical analysis, and his adroit employment of simple logic makes a most compelling, (and for me surprising) case for the indispensable role religious faith has played in the development of modern moral ideals that we now take so for granted and I hungrily devoured the rich historical perspective Brog provides on this topic. (I had no idea, for example, that it is deep religious faith which under girds the humanitarian efforts of Bono in Africa! Who knew?) I found Brog's narrative fascinating, engrossing and enlightening. I highly recommend it.
