I am so pleased to give a rating of 4 out of 4 stars to Defining Her. The situations involved in the story were believable and realistic, focusing on experiences that actually occur today, and developing them into something totally twisted and thrilling. I would recommend this novel to readers who enjoyed The Girl on the Train, as I found the writing style to be similar, as well as the way character involvement was intertwined. A good ending saves it

For most of the book I was vacillating between giving it two or three stars. The characters are generally unlikable and there is a weird emphasis on the minutiae of their daily routines. There are several passages that describe the exact compositions of sandwiches that the characters happen to be eating.

That being said... it's told from the POV of the two main characters and as I read it definitely started to seem that some things that felt amateurish were intentionally that way. And the ending is excellent. As a whole it is definitely more than the sum of its parts, as things that I didn't like about the writing combined into something that in the end I genuinely did enjoy.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit, but this isn't a genre I read often. I think I was a bit thrown by the beginning being very romance novel esque and the rest of the novel having very little of that. I enjoyed the rest of the book much more than the very beginning. I think the themes explored were very interesting and really enjoyed it. I'll be buying more books from this author to check them out. Also of note! I read this book in less than two days. Couldn't put it down.

I’m a bit ashamed to admit that is has been quite awhile since I’ve sat down to actually read a book, but I follow this author’s YouTube channel and I thought that I would give one of her books a try. I was so pleasantly surprised at how quickly engrossed I became in this book. The characters drew me in and the story moved along perfectly. I honestly didn’t know what to expect from this book, but I have recommended it quite a few of my friends and I am recommending it you right now if you are reading this.

I thoroughly enjoyed Defining Her. I wasn't expecting it to be so suspenseful and to continuously keep me guessing the whole way through, however I found myself unable to put the book down because I just couldn't wait to read what Prue would decide to do next. The sexy scenes were a great addition and I liked the dimension it added. Overall, I'm excited to read more from March and plan to pick up more of her novels soon!

Leads you down a completely unexpected path

What makes people do the things they do? Why and how do good intentions cause us to take actions that later we can't justify? And why are we so often guilty of perpetrating the same bad behavior that we shame others for? In the end, are any of us really ,"good girls?" As this story starts out we think we know who the good guys and bad guys are, but before we know it the lines begin to blur, until finally you aren't sure of anything at all. Great read Sam!

I really did enjoy reading Defining Her. There were moments where the book made me feel genuinely uncomfortable, which signified that I was involved enough in the story to have an emotional response. The relationships between the characters are complicated and nuanced and I was quite impressed. I'm not much of a romance/chick lit fan but this book was the exception to the rule. I'd definitely recommend to a friend.
