I wasn't sure these would be strong enough to support the Def. Tech. Pro Monitor 800 speakers I bought because I used the mounting holes on the bottom of the speakers so they go straight out from the wall. That way I could angle them down to the couch under them. I tightened the ball joint coupler with a little help form a slip-loc pliers and they haven't moved a bit. Make sure you can screw into a stud in the wall though.

These are made of plastic. Ten pounds is what they will hold before snapping in half, not what the adjustment will hold in-place. If your speakers are around ten pounds, better keep looking. My Cambridge Soundworks Ensemble II's weigh-in at eight pounds, the brackets sort-of hold position (when cranked down with slip-joint pliers)
That said; they are the best of the cheap wall mounts, they are low profile so they tuck against the wall pretty nice, but far enough off the wall you can slip your pliers in to snug-down the retaining ring, tightening by hand will not suffice.

Do not get me wrong, the speaker mounts were not too hard to install, easy to adjust and work just fine; however I do not see why anyone should have to pay such a hefty price for these mounts. Worst of all, they are the only mounts that I could find that fit my speakers. We tried several other universal mounts with no success. I wish I was pre-warned about the price of the mounts prior to purchasing the speakers, for I might have re-thought the purchase altogether.

I bought these mounts for a pair of ProMonitor 800 speakers. It was not very difficult to install the mounts to the wall or to the speakers. The mount seems very secure - I do not have any concerns that the speakers will fall, although as one other reviewer mentioned, you need to use some kind of pliers to tighten the collar sufficiently or else the speakers might move/sag.

I'll be returning mine because they are not strong enough for the pro cinema 1000..Not even close. The description should include this information
