This item saves you a good deal of money for the price by harvesting lost heat from the dryer vent. The down side is initially you get allot of humidity coming from the very damp clothes. When the first 10 minutes are over the humidity seems to disipate and you get more heat than humidity. Since my wifes office is out near the washer and dryer we simply run the dryer 10 minutes before she starts work and she no longer needs to run a portable heater which is 1500 watts and pretty slow to do the same job. Also your killing two birds by doing the laundry and heating the room so def. a win win. I highly recommend this to any house hold its a great way to save on heat your otherwise pumping outside. The lint screen is fully functional as well it catches just about everything. I might suggest they add a hepa version to catch smaller particles but you can minimize that easily yourself by keeping the vent hose dryer lint screen clean and following the manufacturers recommendations of cleaning the screens after every use.

Liked the concept of this heatsaver, however after a few weeks of use, we had to remove it. Even with having a dryer that is only 2 years old, this device caused the entire basement to get covered in lint dust after every load. Bummer, because the added heat and humidity in the winter was a bonus, but not enough to deal with the dust problem. Perhaps if they have one with a better screen?

Works as expected.
suggest you get metal clamps as the plastic will not hold the hose on.

Does exactly what it says it does. Be careful where you use this. Your dryer may kick out a lot of hummidity into your house.

The box says it is not recommended for gas dryers. I suspect that this is to avoid any possibility of gas fumes being redirected into the house.

Works great with barely any air leaks. I had needed to replace another one that I'd put in as it leaked air BAD. I saw this brand and have been very happy with it. Needed a few plastic trims, but once it was ready, it set in place and put it into action. with a few flaps, it seems to break all the lint out of the dryer line. In my laundry room during the winter, the humidity in the room is 20%, as well as it's about 50 degrees. Will change the flap and update the status in the summer if I have new things to offer.

Only advice is to put a panty hose over the lint trap. it catches the extra lint partials and is amusing to see it flapping around.

My husband installed this in about five minutes. It heats the laundry room area nicely when the dryer is running. I haven't noticed any lint build-up in the trap, but I'm really faithful about cleaning out the lint trap on the dryer, so I don't think there's much blowing around in the hose. We've used this for about a week (that's 14 loads of laundry--we have kids) and it's great. I'm sure it'll be especially nice when the temps drop low enough that the basement is cold. In the summer I'll just close the flap to redirect the hot air outside.
Five months later:
It's still a pretty great thing to have around. I did have to tape it at every single joint and connection point with gorilla tape because it kept falling apart. The lint trap is finicky when you remove it, and it can be difficult to get back on considering that I have to lean over the top of my dryer and reach up to get to it. Don't buy this and think it's a plug-and-play deal. Buy this and buy gorilla tape and tape the whole thing together on day 1. It'll just be easier.

It works...when it actually stays together. The heat of the dryer seems to warp the plastic and it literally comes apart every time you take the lint screen off, which is every load. And putting it together once the pieces have slightly warped plus dealing with the air ducts fitted to two of the pieces, is so frustrating. Also, it only includes 2 clamps and if one breaks, like one of ours did, you're off to the store for more. When it stays together, it does exactly what it's supposed to - divert the moist warm air into the house and it has helped considerably. I wish they would redesign it so that it isn't 7 separate pieces, but one solid piece with the only removable part being the screen since there isn't any reason for it to be a jigsaw puzzle you fight to assemble every time you do a load of laundry.

This is exactly what I was wanting. It lets me switch from pumping the hot air out in the summer to using that hot air to warm the house in the winter. My only beef is that the door doesn't seal up very well when you close off the face. It tends to whistle as air is finding its way around the door.
