I have to say I did love the start of Cameron and Rhyanna's relationship. The boy next door and the rocker chick had next to nothing in common... but they became such great friends. I really enjoyed the scenes involving Cameron's parents and family meeting Rhyanna. It really made their relationship more real.
I have to say something was missing for me somewhere along the way. I liked both of the characters well enough... but neither of them really drew me in enough to make me fall in love. When they fell for each other I don't think I ever had that moment of every really feeling it. That said... I enjoyed the story of them trying to maintain their long distance relationship while Rhyanna lived life on the road and Cameron continued studying to become a lawyer.
This is a sweet romance. A female rockstar, a man who loves her.
It was an interesting read. My problem with it, Cameron should have been the female character. He wasn't an enticing hero. He was overly emotional. Though it was ok to read about not wanting to have sex, and waiting, I feel too much of the story was focused on Cameron (the guy) not being ready. Rhys was a pretty cool chick. I liked her.
The other issue was the time line. The way it moves forward sometimes had me wondering how much time really had passed, how long they had been together and so on. I think some more focus on keeping the time line straight and toughening up Cameron could have made this a much better read for me. I think it's a great romance for a younger reading base. I'm happy to read sexy stories and clean reads, but this one had me so confused as to whether it was clean or sexy, I just couldn't fully enjoy it.
A social commentary on the terrible effects of drug addiction, particularly prevalent in the music industry, was present in the novel and this added immensely to the novel. The power of the love story of Cameron and Rhyanna was particularly touching and I found myself wiping away tears at various parts of the novel.
Normally, I’m not particularly a fan of romance novels but this one really caught my interest and I was able to connect with them quit personally & found myself cheering on the characters throughout the novel as they struggled with decisions they had to make at various crossroads of their lives. I would recommend this novel to anyone and look forward to reading more books by Cherron Riser because this one was certainly a 5/5!
This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I found this book really good. It starts out with Cameron finding out his girlfriend was cheating on him. He ended up going to prom alone, that’s when he saw Rhyanna playing in the band at his prom. They have a little finder bender and that’s when things start for them two. Later in the book when she was on tour she gets into some stuff that ends up harming her. Can what Rhyanna did destroy what she and Cameron have together? I do recommend this book, it was a very good romance book with a rocker chick and a good boy. I like Cameron’s morals are when it comes to sex.
I am glad I got to read this book and I will read more from this author. Overall I give this book 4 ½ stars.
this is my first read from this author and I LOVED it!! I dont normally read books about teen/young adult romance but this was more then a story. It was a message about hope and that things can work out for the better. At the end of the book I was filled with so much happiness for the characters that I was wishing there was more to read about them. I cant wait to read more from Cherron!
