I received a free copy for an honest review

I wasn't really sure what to make of this book but I did really like the characters hence the 4 stars. Bexley is out at a party with her bestfriend Ember when she first meets Zeke. She's just fled her life and is looking to start afresh, and a man like Zeke was not meant to be a part of it. But men like Zeke always get what they want.

He demands her submission and never promises forever. Bexley knows he isn't good for her, that he will only break her heart but convincing her head and her heart to be on the same page is proving difficult. Both of them will hurt the other, their secrets and lies will threaten their relationship, but will they find each other again once it's over?

If you enjoy hearts and flowers types of romances this isn't the book for you. If you like your books with a dark possessive male lead then you're in the right place. Zeke is controlling and in the beginning rather cold which of course is where some of their troubles stem from. Bexley is a strong heroine who doesn't back down easily and it's only towards the end of the book you really see who she truly is.

My only issue with this book was with each chapter it felt more like you were getting another segment of their story rather than a flowing continuation of their lives. It took me a while to get into it and get my head around the structure but I found myself enjoying the story more towards the end, right when the drama started. A handsome bad boy and some crazy friends like Aria made this a great 4 star read!

Stopped reading at 80%. I should have stopped reading much sooner than I did, I just thought it would get better based on some of the good reviews others have left. This could have been a pretty good story but I felt like the author skipped over a lot of character building. I realize Smith was leaving out some important info for suspense purposes but it was in detriment to the story because the relationship between the two main characters fell completely flat for me. I have other issues with this book but don't want to spoil it for anyone else. Oh well.

You take.
No permission required.
No questions asked.
If you like what you see, you take it, you break it, you bend it to your will.
Love will never enter the equation.
Feelings are never required.
Your a taker, plain and simple.
And once you've had your fill, you walk away.
No commitment, no attachment, nothing.
You just simply move on.
This is who you are.
Your built this way.
Only your rules matter.
It's that simple.

But what you never bargain on is that one girl.
That girl who will change you.
That girl that will crawl so far under your skin that you don't know how to breathe.
You don't know how to cope.
You don't know what to do.

This is Zeke and his story.

Never in a million years did Zeke ever believe that one chance meeting with a beautiful girl would completely change his life.

Her name.

Bexley.

Breaking it off with her fiancé, Bexley leaves home and moves in with her college friend.
Finding a job, things for Bexley are looking up. She is no longer being controlled by her fiancé or her father, she's just living her life and trying to find herself again.

But what happens when Bexley and Zeke's worlds collide?

You have one hot, steamy, dark, confronting, sinfully delicious read.

Degrade is nothing short of absolute brilliance. From beginning to end we were taken on a roller coaster ride that left us completely consumed.
It's raw, gritty and down right sexy. It leaves you wanting more and more with every page turned.

This book lacked substance. The characters were one dimensional and I struggled to care what happened to them. I wondered throughout the book where the "dark" part of the "dark erotica" genre label would come into play. But it never did. The "erotica" label was pretty generous also. I rated it 2 stars because it wasn't terrible, it just wasn't good.

If I could give nil stars I would. This would have to be one of THE most disjointed and annoying books I have read for ages. I totally bought this based and the great star reviews but honestly I do NOT understand all these 5 stars. The book was jumpy, Zeke is not Alpha, he just an a$$hole. Bexley is a wet blanket and there nothing anything can tell me differently. This is not dark, it's just an irritating, spasmodic read.

I'm conflicted. The story was decent. The sentence structure and word usage were awkward. It seemed to be edited but still much was missed. Then, there were the well written parts and the author held my interest. I think she will be good one day. So, I'll read the next one and hope for improvement.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

Bexley is forced to play up to the family name, her father has expectations of her including her being with the man she she dosen't feel any sparks for. Feeling stifled by family obligations make her feel like she is drowning and she yearns to break free. So she does! I love that about her she just picks up and leaves everything behind and moves to LA. While there she meets Zeke and caution is thrown to the wind.

He is a Alpha Male if I've ever read one! Demanding and Bex thinks he is absolutely irresistible. Even though her brain is saying she shouldn't she agrees to have dinner with him after they meet at an awards after party she attends with her roommate -- Ember who is a stylist to the stars and Bex's new boss (Seriously sounds like an amazing job am I right?)

This book is told by a dual POV and unlike some books where the 2
POV's make the story jumbled how this author blends them together make it seem natural, like there is no possible way this story could be told
without the 2 POV's. There are some darker elements in this book so if you are easily offended then maybe don't pick this book up.
But if you can leave all of your preconceptions at the door it is a fascinating story! Aria is probably my favorite character aside from Bexley, she has a take no prisoners attitude that I love. Dosen't matter how dangerous the man is she is going to make them cry for their momma and still want her in their bed. You have to respect a character like that.

By the time you get to the end of the book you have to be amazed by the transition! I mean I know I was.
I didn't expect that this book would end where it did based on the first few chapters. But I was pleasantly surprised! I don't often read books like this but this one made me extremely glad I took a chance on it and I can't wait until book 2!
