The Deiss Grater-Zester: the Easiest Way to Zest Citrus And Grate Cheese
The most time-consuming part of cooking recipes that require zest is carefully peeling off the white pith inside the peel. Pith is very bitter and can ruin your recipe. Unlike an old fashioned mandoline or julienne peeler, the Deiss Shredder-Zester gives you zest in 30 seconds - and doesn't even touch the pith! You end up with perfect tiny zest curls - effortlessly. Discover gourmet tastes in well-known and favorite dishes by adding freshly grated spice like ginger. So why wait to create new fruit dishes or fine vegetable salad - get your professional Deiss Grater-Zester today!

Hard cheeses are a snap to grate as well - particularly if you like a finer shredding than most traditional box graters with container can produce. The Deiss handheld cheesegrater produces tiny, ribbon-like curls, not hard little granules. Because of its unique shape, the grated cheese melts almost instantly in your plate.
Finally ... The Best Tool That Helps You Easily Grate & Zest Anything
The Deiss Zester-Grater's sharp grating edges allows you to zest and grate almost anything - coconut, potato, cabbage, apple, lemon, lime, orange, onion, papaya, nutmeg, cinnamon, garlic, carrot, chocolate, etc.

Yes id recommend this product to anyone
It works like a charm for getting any kind of zest although the best is grating garlic on this thing. You can do a knob of garlic really quickly and you get a wonderful, fragrant heap of pulp. If you need finely diced garlic or pulp, a microplane is excellent. It does ginger pretty well too, athough it's always kind of hard to grate ginger because it's so fibrous. And it does hard cheese really well. You can get long shreds of parmesan by pushing down hard on the zester and a more gentle touch will give you finer, snowy cheese if that's what you want.
Your fingers also won't get caught too easily in this thing, which is great. I can grind down a clove of garlic to the very end and not worry too much about sausaging my fingers. I'd still be careful though. I've had a for a couple of months now and the razors show no sign of dulling yet.
Customer support is probably pretty good, i haven't had to reach out to them for anything. But one really nice touch is that the send you some tips on how to use the Deiss PRO zester and cheese grater. For one thing, they suggest oiling it a little bit before using to help material slide through the razors more easily. It's a really good idea and makes clean up really easy. 10 of 10 would recommend.
I saw the zester as part of a "Deal of the Day" promotion and decided that I would try it over my old zester which now I learn was absolutely horrible. The Deiss zester took what use to be a chore and made it such a simple task that strangely enough, I look forward to in the kitchen now. I do a fair amount of cooking which calls for citrus zest. I have used this product for about a month and have no complaints.
> Inexpensive. Paid $10 for this and would gladly have paid twice that amount for the quality.
> Sharp! The zest is extremely sharp and very study blade. No bend in it whatsoever when I grate ginger root. Which use to be a pulpy mess before the Diess zester. Now I get perfectly grated ginger without completely pulverizing it. Excellent! Also, because it is so sharp and sturdy, I didn't have to press as hard as I was with other zesters. Less force, less chance of injury... is a good thing.
> large non-slip handle. Easy to grasp and slightly grooved to provide better grip. All adds up to less chance of taking skin from my fingers rather than the fruit.
> heavy duty stainless steel. No bending and easy to clean.
> decent cover for the zester when storing to help protect the zester and the fingers of those reaching into an over crowded drawer.
> For me, there really are no cons to this product. The closest thing to a gripe would be that there are 2 tiny rubber pieces at the end of the zester. I assume they are to protect user from the sharp edge. But lost one already, probably during washing. Didn't even really notice they were there. But these are bound to be lost unless really paying attention. Once they come off, good luck finding them again. They are extremely tiny. Would have rather seen Deiss round off the ends where the rubber pieces sit.
I do suggest that when you use a grater you should clean it immediately. If you lat it sit and dry out it will be much harder to clean.
