Vanessa, Vanessa, Vanessa! Lady! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. This book was so honest and I could relate. When you said your mom said “you can’t serve 2 masters” and when you talked about your relationship experiences, it took me back to moments in my life where I too had similar encounters. It was a reminder that I’m not alone: I’m not the only one who awaits marriage nor children; I’m not the only one who has had subpar dating experiences. But I truly believe that in due season, everything will fall into place exactly how it’s supposed to be. I’m very graceful to Aunty Vee for recommending this read. My hope and prayer is that as you share this gift with others, not only will they be blessed but remain encouraged for the journey ahead. I also touch and agree with you on your hopes and desires for your future, for your NOW. May everything that has been held up, held captive and/ or delayed, in this next chapter may it be disrupted even now by the hand of God. May it line up with his word and every promise be established here and now, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Well written and grounded in scripture. I respect the author’s willingness to be vulnerable and candid about her own life story. The scriptural Touchstones” at the beginning of each chapter are invaluable for focusing one’s energy and taming the emotions.

I especially appreciated Chapter 11 “What Do You Bring to the Table” as it attempts to bring a fresh perspective to what guys find valuable in a marriage relationship, and hopefully guide others in answering that question for themselves.

All-in-all, good read and a great tool for any woman who is working through the “Singleness” challenge. Add it to your toolkit!

As a West Indian woman, Ms. Farrell’s book definitely resonates with common messages young ladies receive from older women in our culture about love relationships. Being self-sufficient, educated and productive are stalwart traits for single women and some times may be the roadblock to finding a mate—when you can’t find a partner that is equally matched. The biblical quotes that open each chapter are perfect to set the tone for each topic discussed. I am still sitting with the points to ponder that end each chapter. This book is a wonderful way to have a discussion with younger women to help them name and claim what’s important to them as they move through their journey through life. So many of us look at what others have done or are doing in their love relationship, but have not been as introspective as Ms. Farrell. I hope this book garners enough feedback for there to be a sequel; maybe something called, “Prayers Answered!”
