Lots of feels…

I started with the Fort Collins Montgomery series and loved them so I finally started back around it these part of the family. I was not disappointed.

Sierra has a past she’s trying to heal from, and it is revealed in snippets. It was tragic and traumatizing, and unfortunately there are people still trying to hurt her over it. She’s finally opened her own shop and decided to get a tattoo to make her scars into something beautiful. Unfortunately her first interaction with Austin doesn’t go well, as she walks in at the tail end of a confrontation with his suddenly crazy ex. Austin is one of many Montgomery siblings, and co-owns his tattoo shop with his sister. He has a proclivity for D/s in the bedroom, but isn’t particularly dominant outside the bedroom. He’s finally reached an age where he’s tired of dating and would like to settle down at some point.

While these two don’t start off on great terms, the attraction is there. Ultimately they move past their first impressions and realize they’re actually a great match. Just as things are going well for them, he has a 10 year old son dropped at his door. His dad is diagnosed with prostate cancer. She has the crazy ex in-laws coming after her. It’s a lot to deal with on top of a new relationship. There are a lot of emotions in the story. From Austin, Sierra, and his son Leif, we see them each struggle. They don’t always make the right choices, but they do face them and realize they are stronger together. It felt real, and I appreciate that.

My only “complaints” are in regards to the sub plots. The Montgomery family is huge. It gets confusing to have so many subplots going. There are random chapters from other POV and it was unnecessary and distracting. In fact, the entire plot line surrounding Shep and Shea was unnecessary as it really added zero to the story except page filler. There was never any back story line, just the silly conflict they were facing (and it was silly). We got glimpses into the other siblings stories, which I’m assuming will lead into their books. But the random chapters from their POV was too much.

Overall, an enjoyable read. A little D/s and bdsm, but really the idea of it and people’s misconception was mentioned more often than the act, so if it’s not your thing you should still be able to enjoy this imo.

There is just something about the tattooed bad boy that I just can’t get enough of. Maybe it’s because I want more ink. In any case, Austin Montgomery is the perfect contrast of tough exterior and attitude with a super gooey middle, and is just what Sierra needs. This story takes some twists and turns that keep things interesting, but all in all it’s a light read that has just enough grit to keep readers enthralled.

Austin and Sierra do not have the best meet-cute. In fact, it’s just the opposite. Austin assumes she is judging him and tells her off. But when he realizes his mistake, his Alpha way of apologizing makes Sierra and readers swoon. Sierra, after losing her first love and abandoning her life to start fresh, has her walls built high. As time passes, both Austin and Sierra begin to realize that they might just be exactly what the other needs.

This is a very light BDSM with an Alpha-marshmallow that will completely make you swoon and steam up the pages. Austin has the perfect balance of Alpha and marshmallow to make him the perfect guy. I’m just going to put it out there. Treat her like a lady until you hit the sheets and all. As each of their secret pasts get revealed, the story gets some grit but I honestly felt like this was a super sweet, light read that was really excellent in audio narrated by Gregory Salinas. This series I hear is totally binge worthy!

I got this book for free and I’m so glad I did because I would have hated to waste my hard earned money. This book is average at best. I liked the idea of the story but it just didn’t live up to the hype. Austin Montgomery is supposed to be this tough no nonsense guy, he’s also supposed to be a Dominant. He’s actually a guy that can’t cope with change and so indecisive it’s ridiculous. I finished this book because I’m not a quitter. Don’t waste your time or your money with this book.

Very disappointed. Unlike some other reviewers I don't mind reading about doms but only if the book is well written and I didn't think this one was. One minute the author is trying to make us believe that Austin is a kick a** hard guy and the next he comes across as a complete wimp who runs away if life gets too tough.
And I simply could not keep up with all the characters - brothers, sisters, cousins, men as close as brothers but not actually blood relatives. Not to forget their partners & children, his parents, deeply annoying ex who won't leave him alone, nutty as fruitcake parents of current girlfriend's ex. And then a son he never knew anything about shows up out of the blue.
I totally agree with the other reviewer who said the author must have been going for quantity not quality. I downloaded this book for free but I would not bother paying for any others in this series.

This wasn't too bad for a freebie. I grabbed it in the hope that this would also be a good series to get stuck into.

Delicate Ink was released in 2015 so when I got to parts where BDSM was imparted into the plot, I realised that this was probably because of the 50 shades influence because it just didn't fit. This story is told in third person and multiple pov's another thing I couldn't get my head around with such a long series, surely these additional characters get their own book at some point? It just got confusing and I am used to reading first person now, so to be honest I wrestled with this too much but was determined to finish.

This book had such potential but I am aware this is early work from Carrie Ann Ryan and I will have to read something current before deciding if I like this authors style, I need to know if she now writes first person?.

The plot, well, it was ok, Austin is a swoon worthy tattoo artist and Sienna has just set up her own business across the street selling clothing, a boutique.
Austin and Sienna have a frosty start when Sienna discovers Austins moody ways but they soon become friends then eventually more.
Sienna has no family and Austin has it in magnitudes with brothers, sisters, cousins, there's a whole big bunch of Montgomery's so it was heartwarming to see Sienna who had been through tough times and loss finally get a happy ending and finding love.

In summary a nice heartwarming story with hot scenes.

Ok, so was this a great book? No, it wasn't but it was by no stretch of the imagination awful either.
There was a lot going on and you had to use some real brain power to remember all of the other 7 siblings of the Montgomery family as well as friends and partners and kids and, and, and...
There was a lot to the story and was by no means perfect but it was free so I enjoyed it. That sounds like a horrible thing to say but there are books that I've returned for less, so to me that is saying something. Will I remember this book, probably not but it was still interesting enough to keep me entertained for a few hours. With everything going on, I do have to say that Carrie Ann nailed the sex in this book, like some seriously hot stuff going on, and that probably saved it for me.
I'm intrigued by the author and am contemplating trying another book in either this series or another one but I won't be rushing to get there.
All in all I told probably say a solid 3.7 starts.
