The story tells of a little girl who receives letters from her grandfather about his travels. Then, one day, there is no letter for her, and "no day dreams." Where is her grandfather?
Perhaps the story is an allegory about the passing of her grandfather, since after "days and weeks," a letter, which is an invitation to travel, comes from "the oddest direction."
The girl's grandfather descends from the sky in a balloon, and invites his granddaughter to accompany him on a journey to "EVERYWHERE."
This story is also a "coming of age" story, about the time when our dreams materialize, because we have the courage, self-motivation, imagination, and inspiration to make them happen.
Of course, the young girl's dreams are delivered because of the good influence of her grandfather who has cared for her, and nurtured her, through memory-making and the magic of his letters.
This subtle and beautifully illustrated book contains an envelope and a letter within its pages, and the text of the book will surely weave its magic on all those who read it. I love this book, which will enchant young and old! - Suzy Davies
The author explores the young girl’s magical world of imagination while dreaming of joining her grandpa in his travels. The young girl’s dreams take her sailing the high seas, flying through the cloudy skies as a fearless pilot, or riding with teams of wild horses. Her world of imagination calls the young girl to explore dreams beyond her wildest expectations. Lori Preusch grabs readers’ attention from the opening pages to the whimsical ending in DELIVERING DREAMS.
