Lana is struggling to make ends meet, doing what she loves, helping at-risk kids. Her inner voice is often hilarious, which I appreciated in order to alleviate some of the almost unbearable tension in this story.
“Mozey is a ten. Ten for personality and a ... TEN for the swimsuit competition. Get the sash and the crown. He’s already won. Even my mascara is running.”
You know the inevitable is going to happen between these two but even though there is a bit of insta-love, their relationship is a slow-burn and unfolds over the span of time. And when they do get together, WOW!!
“This is a kiss. This is the kiss I will never, ever forget. I may forget everything else, my own name included, but I know I will never forget how I feel in this moment. I won’t forget his kiss.”
This is a forbidden romance, but don’t be put off by Mozey’s age when they first meet. This book is a whirlwind! I absolutely loved the author’s writing style in The Delivery, it made the story very fresh and different.
Despite the grittiness of this story, Mara White is a romantic at heart, and the ending was all that I hoped for! If you are looking for a very different but very sexy and fast-paced story, read The Delivery. You won’t soon forget Lana and Mozey.
"Do you think that from a kiss you might see the rest of your future? That a kiss can dissolve all the fears you’ve held onto your entire life? Or that it could assure you that no mistakes were made in solidifying your destiny? That now was meant to be now and everything will turn out fine?"
When the file for Moisés Roberto Robles de la Cruz lands on her desk, she has no idea what she’s in for. He’s intelligent, talented, sinfully gorgeous and only eighteen. She knows that the instant attraction that they feel for each other will never amount to anything but the more she learns about this beautiful boy, the harder she falls for him.
Mozey Cruz wanted Lana from the moment that her first laid eyes on her. She always kept him at arms length regardless of how many times he let her know that he wanted to be more. Time passes and things inevitably change – except his desire for the one woman that he can never have.
It’s no secret that I am a passionate Mara White fan! Her heroines are some of the most intricately written in the romance genre today. They struggle to come to terms with the amazing power of their sexuality and have to deal with how that impacts the reality of their lives. They make their own choices and owe no apologies – regardless of societal norms. This is one of the many reasons that I find her work so completely engrossing.
The Delivery at its heart is the purest of love stories and it unfolds under the saddest of circumstances. It deals with inequality of all kinds and in the end it proves that love can truly conquer them all – and I’m a believer…
