Delkin Devices Fat Gecko Triple Mount
Impossible Shots, Made Possible
Guaranteeing optimal stability while being used on moving objects, the Fat Gecko Triple Mount allows you to capture professional stills & videos from unique, exciting perspectives.
With its ability to be used on a variety of objects, the Triple Mount can mount any camera to capture shots you normally would not be able to get. Snap or record incredibly low-angle shots while travelling at high speeds, like the ones seen in movies. Attach it to the side of a car, boat, Jet Ski, ATV, snowmobile, etc.; the possibilities are endless!
Attach to any Smooth Surface
Incorporating three 3 in. industrial-grade suction cups, the Fat Gecko Triple Mount is Delkin Devices’ most stable mount to date. The Triple Mount creates a secure, damage-free attachment to any smooth, non-porous surface, while eliminating any vibration. Simply place the mount onto the desired object, push the buttons down to expel any air beneath the suction cups and lift the latches to create a firm, air-tight seal.
Originally designed to carry sheets of commercial glass, the patented suction cup offers a grip that is virtually incomparable. It has been tested on glass, plastic, helmets, boats, surfboards, countertops, even the exterior of vehicles going over 150 mph. In addition, the suction cup has also been tested in various extreme temperatures in order to ensure its reliability.
Customizable Angle Adjustment
Designed with six adjustment points, the Triple Mount can be angled and positioned in numerous ways to accommodate any shooting situation. Three pivoting joints at each suction cup allows you to mount to flat or curved surfaces, while three ball joints enable 360° tilt, turn and rotation for a completely customized set up. The 2 in. extension arm also provides additional reach to shoot over and around objects that may be blocking the camera’s view. The adjusting knobs securely lock the ball head, neck and suction cups into place, guaranteeing that your camera will stay in place, even throughout rapid, shaky movement.
Built to Last
Made up of anodized zinc, the mount is ruggedly constructed to endure any shooting environment, including ones where wind, g-force and water come into play. Its metal design also helps keep heavier equipment steady when in use. Mount it to the side of your car while driving at high speeds or even off the side of a boat as you crash through waves; the mount’s metal design makes it able to resist corrosion, wear & breakage. No matter how often you use it or what conditions it is put through, the Triple Mount will remain durable and sturdy for years of use.

If you're shooting with a heavier DSLR and lens combination or just aiming to get the most stability for video shoots, our Fat Gecko Tripod Mount is just the ticket. Three industrial locking suction cups adjust to the contour of your shooting surface, then tighten and lock into place to create our most stable mount yet. With six adjustable points, it's easy to set up a customized angle that gets you a unique (and otherwise unattainable) shot for every shooting situation. The standard 1/4-20-Inch tripod head creates a reliable connection with your camera and includes a rubber washer with a tightening knob to dampen vibration even further in wind or from moving shooting surfaces. The 3-Arm Mount couples a Fat Gecko Original with a Fat Gecko Mini and creates a 3-point mount for increased stability on moving objects or in harsh conditions. A slide & lock design creates secure attachment between the two mounts and sturdy contact with any smooth, non-porous surface.

The suction cup that came with the dash cam kept falling off and each time I touched the dash cam the mounting bracket shifted so I'd have to reposition the camera.
Not with this mounting bracket. As I learned later (guys read instructions afterwards), removing the suction cup is almost impossible unless you have access to the tab. I didn't, so I had to use a thin tapered plastic utensil to pry the suction cup off of the windshield. The directions state to position the tab downwards for easier access but I couldn't see how that could be done for the interior windshield.
The dash cam is now rock solid firmly attached to the windshield and to the camera so I can now touch the buttons on the camera without moving the camera's orientation.
I did buy another Delkin Fat Gecko Mount DDMOUNT-STEALTH for the rear dash cam since that suction cup falls off when the temperature of the car's interior goes into the triple digits and the stock suction cup mount is also awful.
Too bad that Delkin doesn't list the usable temperature range of the suction cup. I took a chance and if they fall off in the next week or two when it gets scorching hot, they're going back.
Even though the suction cup is way bigger than the stock 5.5cm suction cup that came with the dash can, I was able to position the camera closer to the center of the windshield for a slightly better perspective.
We finally received some blistering heat and sun weather. The interior of the vehicle was as hot as an oven. The suction cups didn't fall off.
I'm very pleased with this suction cup and solid mounting bracket.
I also threaded a PVC coated safety wire through the body of the frame and around the railing--just in case (wasn't necessary--had to pry the suction-cups off the glass when I removed the rig...).
Lack of a 5th star was due to lack of accessories/direct compatibility with the wealth of 1" ball mounting systems. But it was a lot less expensive, and the adaptations didn't come close to making the other one worthwhile.
Things to keep in mind: a GoPro in the waterproof case is nearly indestructible. Look up on YouTube the video of a skydiver accidentally dropping one out of a plane. It lands in a pig pen on a farm and is totally still functional (a pig actually tries to eat it - unsuccessfully, I might add). So even in a worst case scenario, the mount falls off the vehicle in some way, your GoPro will likely be fine.
Even though I bought this originally to use with my DSLR I still have some reservations about mounting a DSLR on the exterior of a moving vehicle, simply due to the added weight. To be honest, even though this mount can support a DSLR, I think the use of an action cam like a GoPro is better anyway. I believe this simply because with a DSLR recording video you'll have no way of manually adjusting your camera settings; something you'll often need to do as the setting and lighting changes. With something like a GoPro the auto settings will adjust things accordingly (not perfectly, and I'm definitely a fan of shooting in all manual mode normally, but it's good enough). Of course this will depend on your specific needs, and I'm sure using one with a DSLR will probably turn out just fine.
I would certainly buy this product again. And if I get additional GoPros then I definitely will so I can mount cameras all over the interior and exterior of a moving vehicle, instead of having to shoot things multiple times for each mounting position.
