I'm not sure what the other guy is talking about. I got this computer a month ago and it's great!!! Super fast processor. The Core i7 processor is really good for video editing, so far, I'm editing videos in real time!! This means that a 5 minute video is taking me 5 minutes to render. Anyone who is into video editing knows that this is awesome! I am going to upgrade the RAM to 16gigs, but you don't need to unless you're editing video.

Everything works so far. Plenty of USB ports (they all work), and the computer is super-quiet. Sometimes it feels like it's off! (but it's not, it's just very quiet).

Installed another SATA hard drive - seamless. And so far all the programs I've installed, have gone in with zero problems.

I'm really happy with this computer.

Back in 2011 I was able to get this computer with my tax returns for my mother and by 2013 the computer kept lagging since the AMD 6670 was collecting to much dust after a year. Dust is very easily to pick up inside when I open it up. This year I put a PNY GTX 750 ti graphics card that came out not to long ago. So far the new graphics card is giving this Dell some new life and not have an issue with the Monitor doing full 1080p through HDMI, every time I was reading something the words were a bit blurred from the AMD 6670 since it was hooked up with HDMI and not DVI so its not doing full native 1080p so thats why I put in a GTX 750 ti and was blown away of how every game can do 60fps almost all Ultra at 1080p with no extra volts running the card like my GTX 660 ti. The Processor is good the DDR3 is good its just the Bad graphics card, the bad casing and the bad airflow with this Dell. Now I jump in to play some games since it needed an upgrade. Dont stick an AMD 6670 and use HDMI it looks terrible through the monitor.

The machine I bought was used but upgraded with two SATA solid state drives (256 GB and 128 GB) and an added PCI card with two USB3.0 ports. The 1 TB 7200 rpm hard drive was relocated to an external drive enclosure that uses USB3.0 capability and provides really fast communication. This system flies!!! Boots to Windows in less than 15 seconds. All I need now is to add a blu-ray second optical drive. Love this machine!

I can't vouch for buying an older machine from 3rd party other than Dell or Amazon, but, I got this in 2011new from Dell and it's not disappointed me yet. I am not a newbie, but had limited budget. for an i7 it was the best deal for under 800.00. I have since added an ssd, Nvidia gtx660, and can play most any game on high and sometimes ultra. haven't had any issues with overheating, but have not over clocked it, mainly because it cannot be OC'd. You might want want to check to make sure you don't get the recalled version. Mine was not one of those builds. But, DO a search on the Web for this. Also, don't pay more than brand new. Do your research.

I purchased this PC in September 2011. The hard drive had to be replaced in January 2012. In June 2015, the machine refused to boot and it is now replaced by a Dell XPS 8700, which I hope provides better service (I bought a four year extended warranty). I bought a Dell XPS 410 in 2007 and it is still serviceable, albeit much slower.

I have had this computer for a few years now and it has always run ok. I just recently updated windows 7 to windows 10 and replaced the 500g hard drive with a 500 g Samsung 850 evo SSD. WOW!! This thing is a beast. Boots up in less than 15 seconds. I can't believe how fast it is. As fast as my Dell XPS 8700 with a I7 4790 cpu I have at work. Best upgrade for the money, $150.00, is a SSD!
