Designed to keep cool: The Aurora is Alienware’s smallest mid tower gaming desktop ever to offer liquid cooling.
Inspired by the thermal ergonomics of the Area-51, the Aurora provides optimal air intake on the front and right panels and an exhaust fan on top for maximum airflow and cooling of internal components.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
Stunning graphics capabilities: Tested and benchmarked at UHD 4K resolutions and beyond in games and synthetic benchmarks, the Aurora offers brilliant resolution and exceptional frame rates, with graphics like NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080.
Engineered to overclock: The Alienware Aurora was designed to fully support custom with 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8700K processor(6-Core/12-Thread, 12MB Cache, 4.7GHz w/ Intel Turbo Boost Technology) and 16GB of DDR4 at 2666MHz.
High-speed and hardcore: Maximize gaming performance and capacity with 256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD (Boot) + 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s (Storage).

Alienware Command Center
AlienFusion: The new Always Ready Mode puts your system in a state in between sleep and awake, allowing core programs to run in the background while the machine runs quietly and in a lower power mode.
AlienAdrenaline: Featuring customizable game and applications, a system performance optimizer and a performance monitoring tool, AlienAdrenaline provides users all the tools they need to keep one step ahead of the competition.
Thermal Controls: Change settings and monitor internal temperatures and speeds of certain fans within your PC using the Active Thermals module.

Dell/ Alienware not so much. After spending 2 hours on the phone and them working remotely on my computer nothing was solved.
Dell scheduled for another attempt at fixing the problem, but did not call as scheduled. An hour or so after the appointment was supposed to happen and email arrived stating sorry we missed the appointment, can we try again on another day. Agreed and we rescheduled.
Next appointment time came and went, no call. Received an email saying sorry we missed again, let's try a different day.
At this point, after reworking my schedule twice for an appointment, I returned the computer.
Price reference for people who don't believe:
1. i7-8700k is running 370
2. cheapest RTX 2080 is 700
*price taken from Newegg 12/5/2018
Now add the price of a 850w PSU, 16GB of ram, 256 NVMe SSD + 2TB HD, liquid cooling, case, led, cable management, and without the hassle of building it yourself. This is also without going full budget and buying a no-name brand PSU that will either fry your computer or arrive DOA (may be over-exaggerating on worst case scenarios, but you get it). For what you get, the price is certainly comparable.
Remember, you are buying this computer for its brand, the components it comes with, and the fact you want a competitive PC without having to worry about building it yourself. If you think this PC is for you, then you will definitely find it to your liking.
Cons: I had an issue with Nvidia control panel would not function as installed, quick visit to NVidia to update drivers and software.corrected issue. Identification of sound plugs came from some alien planet, and are very poorly marked, very difficult to see.
Plan on visiting Dell site to download. PC documentation.
I have only had system a couple days, but would buy it again.
Ran into some issues right out of box. Command Center software unresponsive or largely not working. Fans inside running poorly or at very low speed. Lighting effects not working. CPU pump error message. White residue on case, blotch or stain on front from residue or unknown cause, had to be worked off with water and polish. After re installing BIOS and deleting some files, re installing Command Center, I mostly straighten out all of above. You might have a rough start like me if you purchase this model, however, there are solutions. It’s not what I expected for a new top of line gaming pc. Quality control issues abound, however, I did keep the computer and it is producing some good results with the latest games as of this date. Would I recommend it? If you are really into games and don’t mind some obvious quality control shortcomings, it is worth it. If not, try another model or something less pricey.
Update: Decided to return my model. Main reasons, cosmetic and mechanical flaws that either could not be fully fixed or would require repair. Performance wise, it was very good. The shame of it is the rest, too many other flaws to keep my confidence. Stain on front of plastic case, noisy fans that were not mounted properly, white residue on vents, problems with Command Center software, changing lighting non functional or buggy. Gave up on Alienware altogether. If this is the best they can do New right out of box, something is wrong. The 4 stars remains for performance only.
