I have both this 25" model (U2515Hx) and the 27" model (U2717D). I use them at separate locations with a Surface Pro 4. Both monitors have the nearly identical aesthetically pleasing casings, multi-adjustable stands, multiple connectivity options and run the same 2560x1440 resolution. Ultra-high resolutions (i.e. higher than these monitors) currently may result in Windows 10 performing resolution scaling (which for some may be necessary or desirable) but can leave some applications (such as graphics, programming and virtual / remote desktop) with a slightly out-of-focus look. Windows 10 does not automatically scale the 27" but defaults the 25" model to 125% (you can set that back to 100%), which is why I give the 27" 5 stars vs 4 stars for the 25". Another reason for this 25" model getting 4 stars is that it (vs the U2515H model) seems to be "left out" of support by Dell. I went to download the U2515Hx display driver from Dell and only the U2515H driver can be found; the U2515H driver will not install on the U2515Hx. Fortunately the U2515Hx driver does come on the CD with the monitor (assuming you're lucky enough to still have a way to read a CD).

This monitor really met all expectations. Color accuracy out of the box is amazing and the quality of the IPS panel allows me to work for hours at a time with no eye strain or fatigue. Set up is super easy and the ease of adjustment that the stand affords makes finding the best position for the monitor very easy as well as rotating the monitor for others to see if needed. I have used this monitor and the 16:9 version extensively and I really think that the 16:10 version is a *significantly* improved experience. The extra vertical scree real estate creates a much more natural aspect ratio for having multiple windows and work areas on screen at once. I honestly can't recommend this monitor enough at the price point. If you can find it cheaper refurbished or open box, you should absolutely snatch it up; this monitor really punches above its weight class.

I'm loving this monitor. I first tried connecting it to my Mac Mini with a Mac cable consisting of HDMI (at the Mac end) to DVI, then that to DP in the monitor. No signal was detected. Then I purchased an HDMI to HDMI cable, which worked great after switching the input source via the monitor setup menu. Lettering was crisp, in contrast to another poster's experience using a straight through HDMI. For those interested, it appears the monitor height CAN be adjusted, although I've left it at the maximum height of 6-5/8" between the monitors bottom and the desk. The Mac automatically and correctly selected the best display parameters for this monitor.

There isn't much I can add that hasn't already been said. I bought two to use side by side, and I just love them. The matte finish is gorgeous, the thin bezels are beautiful, the way you can adjust the height of the monitor is just brilliant. If you're looking for a dual monitor setup that fits on a typical desk, definitely consider picking up a pair of these.

Great monitor when it doesn't have any screen anomalies and doesn't quit working. It goes into power save mode at will (even when my power mode setting is set to 'Never'). I basically get to use the monitor about 1/2 my work day and that is about it. I have to completely shut my system down and come back up and keep trying until the monitor actually does anything for me again. Highly annoying. I've even gotten a replacement monitor from Dell and the same things happen. Some combination of my Dell monitor, laptop and docking station is not working properly.

I bought two of these 24" monitors recently.

The good:
1. The picture. OMG the picture. Absolutely gorgeous. These monitors replace a single Samsung 24" that's many years old at this point and the improvement is noticeable.
2. VESA 100x100 mounting is compatible with most monitor stands/arms. I'm using these with a dual clamp-on monitor mount to get some desktop real estate back.
3. Lots of USB ports.
4. The HDMI, DisplayPort, and mini-DP connectors make this monitor great for laptop users who want an outboard monitor.
5. One of the USB ports is a high-current USB 3.0 port for devices that need it and can make use of it.

The not-so-good:
1. I have not been able to get daisy-chaining via Displayport to work with either my personal Linux box or my work-issued MacBook Pro running Yosemite. My video card has two DVI outputs so I'm using a pair of DVI -> HDMI cables for hookup. Not sure that this is the monitor's fault though. If you want to use multiple outboard monitors with a laptop that has only a single mini-DP connector, this monitor may not work so well for you.
2. The USB ports are on the back, facing downwards, and are kind of inconvenient to reach. They're located on the same panel with ports for lots of other stuff that doesn't get plugged and unplugged anywhere near as frequently, like the main USB lead to the computer and the video cables. If you need to plug a USB cable in, you're doing it blindly, by feel.

Also be aware that these monitors do not have DVI or D-sub VGA ports. They have only DisplayPort, mini-DisplayPort, and HDMI. If your computer only has DVI or VGA outputs you will need an adapter.

After returning several ASUS TN-panel monitors due to obvious discoloration, I decided to foot the bill and give IPS a try. And boy, let me tell you, these monitors were worth every penny (I bought 2). The extra 120 vertical pixels make more of a difference than you might think, especially if you spend hours a day writing code and designing web pages. Speaking of web design, the vibrant, accurate colors are easy on the eyes and a must-have for anyone working with web/graphic design. I mean COME ON, it's an UltraSharp for crying out loud!

The physical design of this monitor is, for all intents and purposes, perfect! The extra-thin bezel is fantastic for anyone looking for 2 or 3-monitor setups. I have my primary monitor facing straight towards my and the secondary angled to the left, and there is maybe a half-inch separating the pixels of the 2 screens. And these monitors are all about that BASE, baby! This thing is ridiculously stable, yet the screen arm rotates about the base, the screen mount slides up and down on and rotates about arm, and the screen itself tilts up and down about its mount for EVERY. POSSIBLE. CONFIGURATION you could imagine.

One disclaimer - the factory-calibrated defaults left much to be desired. They throw in this fancy report, but straight out-of-the-box one screen had an obvious yellow tint that nearly drove me INSANE. However, I did not deduct a star because with a bit of research and elbow grease (and about 45 minutes of tedious capacitive button-pushing) I was able to not only calibrate the monitors to perfectly match each other, but I think they both look even better (whites are whiter, colors are less washed-out) than the better one did originally. I may invest in a high-quality colorimeter sometime in the future, but for now, I can't tell the difference and I'm really happy with the results so why bother?

P.S. Daisy-chained DP 1.2 is the shizz - and the monitors come with all the cables you need to do it (DP-miniDP)!

Even upon the first time using it, it had trouble connecting. It works intermittently with the mini DVI. Eventually it displayed the computer, but after the computer sleeps it has trouble finding it again upon wake. It would display something like "entering power save mode" upon the computer turning on. The computer detects the display and the display detects the computer, but the display goes into the power saving mode.
I read some users online having the exact same problem with dell monitors + DVI input.

Very nice. Would purchase again.

Pros:
1. Only slightly larger than 10 year old Dell 2405fpw it replaces
2. Color is much better than old monitor. I did not realize that my old monitors could not display white well.
3. Does not have 4k issues with Windows (scaling, game frame rates, etc). My current hardware can handle it with some games settings changes.

Cons:
1. Brightness uniformity seems mediocre when looking at a dark screen in dark room. Compared to the older monitor, it is no worse. Since I do not look at dark screens in dark rooms very often, this is not a big deal because it is not really noticeable in normal usage in lighted room.

2. USB ports are on the bottom with the inputs, not very easy to reach.

3. No HDMI 2.0 inputs. So full resolution at 60hz refresh is not possible with HDMI input. I don't think any computer monitor has these at this time. If you want full resolution at max refresh, you must use display port.

I wanted a relatively large monitor that would mount on the wall and serve for everyday computer use as well as for viewing movies. The primary consideration being that the monitor have at least a 16:10 aspect ratio….. the 16:9 being ludicrous beyond consideration.
Turns out that there is precious little out there to choose from…. like NOTHING larger than this one. So, I went with the 24 inch Dell Ultrasharp U2415 because of the excellent Dell Ultrasharp reviews and the fact of it have an extremely thin bezel.
Upon its arrival I was surprised (not so pleasantly) that I had to purchase a Male-Male DVI to HDMI cable adapter in order to install it to my HP Windows 7.
Over seven plus months extensive use, I absolutely love it!!
To be brief, my U2415 has all the qualities raved about in the highest of reviews……. with no trace the problems referred go in the single star ratings. As a test, I set the wallpaper to a solid black color and even under this extreme constraint there was virtually ZERO backlight bleeding through……

UPDATE: I was so taken with this monitor that I purchased another.... every bit the winner the first one was.... again... simply LOVE it!
