...how do I know the item will really work like new? What are the credentials of these people who refurbished it? Will it arrive damaged because of sloppy packing? In fact; all the same questions you asked yourself BEFORE you clicked "place order". Then finally, Why did I do it?!!

I did it because my current $800 PC was dying a slow death after only 2 years. I did it because this particular PC offer from Amazon was twice the memory, one-third the cost of a new one, pre-installed with one of the most successful and trusted programs Windows has ever devised and because my risk was covered by the earned trustworthiness of Amazon.com which I've been dealing with for over eight yrs now.
Delivery came on the day it was scheduled. Opening the box I was so relieved to find the PC thickly and entirely padded by someone who knew their responsibility, and included with the PC was extra cables, an attractive keyboard and a new mouse.
Setting it up was easy with factory new, color instructions and accompanying disc. It was up and running in two hours from delivery and the Windows XP was what I hoped for after being tortured by the Vista program for two years.
In short: I would buy refurbished merchandise from this seller again and I would recommend them to a friend

I am so happy I got this used, but almost brand-new looking pc with operating system XP. From the beginning the pc did a great job and is still doing it. I hate my other, very new pc because of the operating system Windows 8 / 8.1 MSN offers now the free download Windows 10 In my opinion they can stick it, I will not for any reason get more Windows.
The XP was the best MSN ever had to offer. Everything is so much easier to do. Why making a operating system more difficult when it could be much easier. Ok, for the busy money making business managers the One Drive is a nice toy to play with while sitting in a restaurant or having a sales meeting, but forgot the important calculations in the office.
FOR ME AND MY DAILY USE THE ONE DRIVE IS A PAIN IN THE NECK BECAUSE NOW I HAVE TO DO MORE STEPS TO KEEP M6Y DOCUMENTS ORGANIZED AT O N E PLACE.
lONG BEFORE msn CREATED THIS one DRIVE, I USED THE Verizon OFFICE PACKAGE AND WAS ABLE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE TO HAVE ACCESS TO EVERYTHING ON MY PC AND TO EVEN SEND FAXES, just with my cellphone !!!!!!!!!!!.

I actually bought this for my friend, it was a birthday surprise really. I wasn't quite sure how this would be shipped, but I was very pleasantly happy when UPS brought this to the door how secure this was placed in the box.. It had a billion little popcorn pieces which my cat ended up loving alongside using the box as his house for the next month LOL The speed of this desktop was faster then anything I had at the time, Did not have much of a hard drive, but for the speed, I was very happy!~!~ Blazing fast!! For the price that I paid and the brand, I was more then happy,it doesn't take much these days to just buy a bigger external hard drive or have it replaced. I believe the only issue we faced was replacing the internal battery after some time, it stopped saving the current time, but the battery was fairly easy to replace as well.

The desktop was really good for someone who just mainly used the internet browser, does not download much of anything else or play games outside of the browser, due the limited hard drive space. IF you upgraded the hard drive, Im sure more could be done, but for what this has it gets the job done for whats in it!

Admittedly, I was a little nervous about replacing the older desktop I had with a unit that was about the same age.

So far, I am very pleased with the unit. It isexactly as advertised. I had to install a PCI card and was pleased to find that all the normal "fuzz" and dust had been vacuumed out. No problems on startup. The keyboard provided with the unit did crap out after about 10 days tho.

It performs as advertised. I have had it for about a month and no problems.

I liked this unit enough that I bought another refurbished Dell from EZ Buy Cafe for my wife.

Received the Dell promptly, well packaged and when I took it from the carton it looked as good as a brand new unit. It fired up and displayed Windows XP in all it's glory. It has run flawlessly for five or six hours and should last for years. Should it need parts as time goes on, as does happen with many new units, parts are cheap and simple to replace due to Dell's excellent system to remove defective parts.

Whoever had this computer before me surely took great care of it, not a scratch or blemish on it. It came with all necessary programs and I installed my favorite programs with ease. I highly recommend this computer and the seller. I gave it 5 stars because it looks great and runs great with more than enough power to run most any program!

I bought a Dell Optiplex 745 with XP pro loaded. It works great and seems
very solid. The power-supply fan quit turning, after about 6 hours, but as a
re-furbished, older computer, I don't think that is of any concern, or
reflection on the computer. A $15 replacement fan, and it's running like a
new one. My old computer that quit working, had cost me about $400 to have
it worked on, and all to no avail. I think the CPU was slowly failing. So,
for half the price of working on an old worn out Celeron, I have one that I
think will last for years. I am tempted to buy another one just to have a
backup, years down the road. I have loaded my old Office 2000, the Pro
version of XP looks like what I'm use to, new security is Avast, and it all
works perfectly for me. I can't express my joy of having XP and Office 2000
and all my old stuff. I moved all my files over using an external HD and
everything is re-incarnated perfectly. Thanks. I think with this computer,
I'm ahead about a thousand bucks; no new computer, no new Office, and
mostly, no steep learning curve with expletives!
