Good people but wrong part

Part did not fit. I was not able to determine where the hold down screw was on their item...the picture on the site wasn't clear enough to tell. Hell for 25 cents what the hell.

1. sent out the part very quickly and arrived in good shape
2. quick, literate and friendly professional communication
3. offered a return label without a problem

To wrap up; the folks are good but the part does NOT fit XPS m-140, not mine at least..I guess my XPSM140 is, as they stated, "...an odd ball part".
If your XPS M-140's inverter has the hold down screw on the bottom of the part--do not order this one..it will not fit.

I found the right one --identical to my origial part-- herein for 20 bucks..so I am gonna be in business.

Stopped working after just 2 days

I received the item as described and the shipping was super fast. I installed the inverter and it worked great, except that I noticed a slight hum, kind of like the sound you would hear from an old tube TV. Well, that is where the good news stops. The laptop was off for 2 days after the repair and on the 2nd day I turned it on. After about 30 minutes of continuous use, there was a "buzz" and the screen went dark again. If I let the laptop sit for about an hour I can get a few minutes of working screen.

Based on my experience ( And I have never written a negative review on amazon that I can remember) I would not recommend purchasing this item.

Purchased this part to replace a defective inverter on my Dell D630. On the plus side, it arrived quickly, but quickly things went downhill from there. First, the packaging was awful - it was thrown in a brown envelope lined with bubble wrap, so the bracket came slightly bent. I guess that was ok since the bracket was the wrong size for my monitor, so I had to take the bracket off my old one and put it on the new one.

I installed the part and it worked fine... for 20 minutes. I restarted the laptop and it worked fine again for 20 minutes before locking up computer. Rechecked all connections, everything was fine, but then computer wouldn't start properly. Wouldn't work with external monitor until I removed the part completely, after which it did work.

Bottom line ... I either got a bad part, or this really isn't compatible with the D630 - or both.

My Dell inverter situation

My Dell D620 had screen problems...flickering and blacking out. Close and open the lid, it came back on. My research found the inverter was shutting down. I ordered a new one and received it. Upon installation I found this one buzzed even louder than the original and the screen went black. When I notified you, your agent told me another one was in the mail and not to bother with the headache and expense of returning the bad one. Very cool. BUT, unfortunately the replacemet failed, as well, and again your company agent responded professionally and sent me, yet, another one and that did the trick. My Dell works great and that couldn't have happened without your follow up and tenacity. I will come to you with any further products I may need. Thanks, again Dave

Lower screen brightness. Not fit the model Dell inspirone 630m

It was not easy to fit as the dimensions were different from original equipment. Screw holes were off by 3 mm and that is enough to not fit the space. After connecting, the screen brightness was worse.
