ultra sharp 27 inch new monitor. Refresh existing model with improved productivity features such as better connectivity features and an ultra-thin bezel to support
I purchased this in early December so Dell's 3 year premium warranty will be one month old. There will be a restocking fee for any returns as it is a new item with the (almost) full warranty.

I'm a long-term Apple user and this is one of the first big non-Apple purchases I've made. I admit to a bit of a bias toward Dell's monitors -- simply because they are from Dell -- but I must say that I am very pleasantly surprised and would make the same purchase again without hesitation.
The only complaint that I have is that these monitors don't have built-in speakers. It would have been very easy for Dell to include speakers within the monitor, but they elected to keep the speaker external via the Dell Sound Bar 511, which is a bit of an ugly wart on the bottom of an otherwise attractive monitor. Obviously, it wasn't a show-stopper for me, and I've purchased a small, $25 Anker speaker to hide behind the Dell monitor(s) to provide sound.
In any case, if you are an Apple MacBook owner, don't hesitate to pick up one of these monitors for yourself. I hope that, like me, you'll be pleasantly surprised with your purchase.
So, I had the same black-out thing as everyone else has, but I figured, okay. I can live with that.
But washing the screen gently on one, the TINIEST bit of water must have gotten under the bottom lip on one. Huge bad vertical random color strip. Alright, let's say this is my fault. I'll still not get mad.
So I took that one out to the living room and let my GF use it as a TV. Bumped against it one day, vaccuuming. Insta-trashed.
Alright. Fine. I'll deal. My fault both times, right?
Second monitor I'm using as my computer screen, works okay except for the occasional blackout. Still dealing with that okay.
I decide to clean my computer desk. GENNNNTLY move it with one hand. CRACK. Trashed where my thumb was.
NO WAY. This one was NOT my fault. These monitors are as fragile as butterfly wings. So long as you NEVER move these things, they work ok. BUT NEVER EVER MOVE THEM FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER.
I had bought a Samsung 28" UE5010 4K monitor at a big box store and it was considerably cheaper than the 27" Dell. Even though the Samsung had higher resolution and was bigger, I did not think the text quality was as good as it was on the Dell 27", so I took the Samsung back. I need something that is easy to read, and the Samsung side-by-side with the Dell was not that good. In fact, I preferred the Dell 24" over the Samsung 28".
I also have two older Dell monitors that must have cost a grand each 10+ years ago, but the also still work fine. So hoping the new Dells have many years in them.
After the dust had settled, I examined the machine and discovered a critical flaw: the base and monitor have 2 "snaps". In one the monitor is secure. In the other the monitor is looking to jump off the stand like it's the Titanic. Both locking modes look exactly the same. I have zero idea why they would do that.
The worst part is, I took a video clearly showing the problem, called Dell, talked to 3 people, and NO one would help nor even LOOK at the video! It's clearly a design flaw in the product (imagine if there is an earthquake in a city with a lot of Dells--monitors will be raining down like fireballs from Zeus). They said "Unfortunately because it's a monitor we don't do repairs". I said, "How about a replacement?". They said "Because it's a user caused issue we aren't allowed to do that". I said, "look at the video", they said "Let me transfer you to sales they'll help you buy a new monitor".
Anyway, I cannot recommend this Dell monitor as you cannot trust a product which has the feature, apparently on purpose, "designed to fall on your face".

Its bright and colors are excellent. I have not needed to re calibrate it. I use it daily with Photoshop.
The build quality is excellent. This is not a cheaply built monitor. It is solid and well balanced on my desk.
The monitor height can be adjusted easily and it can be swiveled to your desired viewing angle. Its has USB3 ports built in and acts as a hub which is very useful. There are plenty of connectivity options. I am using a Display port and am experiencing no issues connecting it to my graphic card.
I love the monitor and my only complaint is I wish I could afford a second one.
The picture was quite nice but a bit too bright and contrasty. I adjusted those and was quite happy. I checked for dead/stuck pixels and could find none. Colour looked uniform across the screen - no weirdness. It comes with a Delta sheet with the aim of Delta E<3. Reading it, it looked <2.
However. when I checked the backlighting things went a bit downhill. On the left side top and bottom were areas of concern. If you press the bezel they worsen a lot - so something to do with bezel pressure... Not drastic but obvious. I turned down the brightness and contrast and things improved. Still there but less so. I thought I could live with that given the rest of the screen seemed very good.
The psu cable does not fit the monitor - it drops out! I used the cable from my recently demised Dell U2713H (4 years it lasted) which fits perfectly. Dell needs to look at that cable issue.
So, I weighed up the situation of hunting again for another monitor and suggested to Amazon that they give me a discount to account for the anomalies. They agreed and we did a deal. I now have a monitor which is mostly okay for a fair price. I like Amazon's attitude.
I use it in a setup with multiple PCs, so the multiple inputs are very helpful in my case, plus it ha audio output, which automatically outputs the sound from the selected video source. So very well thought out.
Pixel response time is not the best I've seen, but for most work like graphics, video or documents this won't matter. Some high end gaming might see slight effects of this, but I do play a few games and in my view this is well worth the other advantages and is not noticeable enough to be an issue.
Wonderful monitor, I would highly recommend it.
The image is crisp with excellent colours.
The only disappointment is the coating on the screen, which actually reduces the quality of its blacks and is prone to glare from external light sources. You'll want to keep the screen clean.
My only other gripe is that I wish the ports were more easily accessible. They're located beneath the monitor, where the power port is and although I appreciate this improves aesthetic and organisation, it's not been achieved in a convenient way.
I did a lot of research before buying this monitor, I wasn't interested in 144hz and I kept coming back to this item. I'm still using it and if I were to do a new build, I doubt very much I'd replace it.
The thin bezel is also very nice and if you are upgrading from a smaller monitor like I did, you'll really appreciate the size and form.
This is one of the best monitors at this price range, unless you're willing to spend more, you can't go wrong.
I researched quite a lot to find this, and it was recommended in some tech video. I'm happy with the result given the time I spent.
I'm not a hardcore gamer or obsessed with screens or anything, but to me it's great. It's nice and clear, there was nothing wrong with it. I have a Dell XPS 13 (Windows 10) if that makes a difference. I suppose an unintentional bonus is that it matches my laptop (tiny bezel etc).
It looks good on my desk. The settings are easily adjustable. Definitely a level up from my 13-inch laptop screen. That screen is 4K and this one holds up to it well.
You can raise/lower the screen which is handy. Also tilt it up/down, or even rotate it sideways for a portrait orientation (I don't do this).
Anyway, this is trailing off. I have no complaints. And it arrived very quickly as I wanted it to which was appreciated.
