However after 5 months of use I've noticed a region of pixels in the upper right that's changing color... it appears to be related to the monitor getting hot around that area since the issue is not visible when I first power it on.
Not sure if this is a Dell manufacturing issue but I'm very disappointed that I'm stuck with it now as Amazon only provided a month for product return/exchange.
I have several other 20-24" Dell monitors and this is the first one I've experienced issues with.
1. DisplayPort 2.0 can only be enabled once a connection has been made. A connection cannot be made until DisplayPort 2.0 has been established. I needed to borrow a third older computer to connect to the monitor to get access to the OSD and enable 2.0, I wasted time and money on another cable because I thought that was the problem.
2. My panel has a 1" section in the bottom right that bleeds blue light heavily, I'm getting this replaced by Dell through warranty.
3. Doesn't always wake up from sleep. Replacing through warranty as well
Waiting on hold with Dell as I write this review, I'm not against foreign support teams but I don't care where the support station is located if the person on the phone doesn't know the difference between a monitor and computer and can't accurately interpret what I'm explaining to them. Just got off hold now, their manager approved the replacement, hopefully this goes well.
-Amazing color display and fidelity
-Not perfect for gaming
-AMD drivers are bug-ish and you need to power cycle the monitor every now and then
Remember that this monitor is intended for profesional graphic designers and, as such, is really not suited for gamers. It has a high latency (about 100 ms), which, though you can't notice, affects your gameplay.
on the other end, the 4K resolution gives you A LOT of space to work with. If you work with graphics or video editing, you are gonna love this display. The only real "big issue" I've seen is that AMD drivers are kinda crappy for 4K resolution support and they tend to break every now and then (This is due to the "dual panel design", but still, is more of AMD's fault than Dell's).
Overall, I'm really happy with this purchase, and at the same time, can't wait until the technology gets better so that they can send a 4K signal directly to the monitor without having to rely on tricks like dual panel design.
Monitor not waking up from sleep, requiring restart
Monitor not displaying any image at bootup
Monitor displaying only half an image
Problems likely involve MST. My Samsung 4k 60hz SST monitor has none of these problems.
