The lower end processor actually saves quite a bit of power. Computer lasts 6 hours without a charge.
This is a great computer between home/work
Cons: Most issues with this computer is Win8. Just remove that puppy and put win7 on it. If you prefer to use Win8, I suggest downloading Pokki. It will alleviate the tears at night that you will have from the new start menu.
I thought I will get keyboard back-lighting, but it doesn't. Too bad. I also doesn't like that the Home/End, and Page up/Page down keys are only available along with pressing the FN key. What was Dell thinking? There's more than enough room to extend the keyboard a bit.
Startup is pretty fast from wakeup (again, this is an i3 processor, and it's faster than my Acer with a 3rd Gen. i5). It seems to be great for daily (non-demanding) tasks. Wifi was working great straight out of the box.
The design is not bad, but I don't like the rounded corners too much. It doesn't blend well with Win8 theme which all windows have sharp squares. Basically, HP makes much better and high-end designs than Dell.
Overall it's a pretty good laptop, I hope it will give me a few happy years with it, and as of now, it's recommended for a lower-end, basic laptop.
I purchased this product despite many complaints reg laptop not booting after few days. Same happened to me in less than a week and had to return it.
This specific model seems to have a common hardware problem.
I will not recommend this product to any one.

This computer refused to boot the second time I turned it on. I ran the diagnostics for over an hour and a half, only to be told it passed all tests. Clearly a piece of junk.Published on August 21, 2013 by Patrick Long
