Good Product, Bad Regulator

Great fuel injector upgrade, BUT you should/ will need to replace the pressure regulator! I had mine go bad after 75 miles or so. Got harder and harder to start and black smoke out of the tail pipe. I had a new BWD regulator on my old injector body, should have just replaced it right away, but took a chance and got bit. Had to tear apart he whole plenum again (I'm getting really good at it, though!).

If you're having a lean condition, usually p0171/p0174, then replacing the injectors should solve the problem. I have replaced a bunch of things on my 98 blazer but this is the only thing that fixed it.

Easy install took 2 hours including the time it took for cleaning the inside of plenum and on top of the lower intake manifold. Routing lines so that they don't kink or interfere with mounting the upper plenum is the most difficult part of this project. Only needed a few tools, shown in my photo. I have slightly better throttle response and more torque. MPG is way up! I rode all the way to work on empty 24 miles. The boxes the item came in are absurdly large in comparison with the product as shown in my photo with the old injector as reference. This is a real Delphi part. It says Delphi on all of the injectors. Bracket and mounting screw were included, but I reused the factory hardware. Mine came with a different pressure regulator than whats shown in the listing photo.

Delphi FJ10565 Fuel Injector - great price- $172.50 came with bracket

I bought this for 2000 chevy blazer, 4.3L (W) engine. It came with the bracket so I did not need the bracket I ordered. Although the kit only came with the o-ring for the injector body and manifold, you would still need to buy the upper intake manifold gasket kit for the other 2 gaskets (upper manifold gasket and the throttle body gasket). The problem I had with my truck was the check engine light was on "P0135 random misfire code", rough running, and hard starting when hot. When I checked the fuel pressure, the pressure dropped to near zero within a minute of turning the key on and then again it would drop to zero within a minute of turning the key off. When I pulled off the manifold it was obvious that fuel pressure regulator. This kit came with a new fuel pressure regulator and is the upgraded SCPI Conversion to MFI version which eliminates the poppet injectors. If you knock off the cost of the regulator, the cost of the kit about equaled the cost of just one new old style injector, So its a good buy and it saved me time of performing a diagnostic and installing new o-rings on the original injectors. The new injection system took me 2 evenings to replace and the truck runs great. I was pleasantly surprise to see that these injectors were still Made In USA.

I'm going to try and keep this short. I had an on-going "hard start" problem that was driving me nuts (the colder the weather, the easier the car started - a 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada). If it was cold out, a single turn of the key and the car started right up; the hotter it was outside the longer it would take to crank and pump the gas a bit). After a a discussion with a mechanic he mentioned it might be "the spider" had a cracked line. A bit of research and I ordered this unit.

Without exaggeration, from start to finish it took about 3 hours to replace this unit. If I recall, the whole thing can *almost* be done with one 10mm socket wrench. This includes being a bit anal about things and cleaning all the parts, running out for coffee, stopping to take phone calls... Once done, literally, though they say you need to prime the system by turning the key on/off a couple of times to run the fuel pump, I did none of that. I turned the key and it started right up and ran perfectly.

Had I known how incredibly easy this was to do I would have done it years ago. Changing the plugs on this motor is more of a hassle than changing this unit out. If you do your own work, don't even hesitate - you will not regret it.

Good replacement for 98 Chevy Silverado V6 Fuel injector spider

I purchased this for my 98 Chevy Silverado V6. I had been having problems for a month or so before the fuel pump died on me. I replaced the pump, which was indeed dead, but it didn't fix the rough idle, low power, and stalling problems. I spent a few hundred dollars replacing other parts (MAF sensor, TPS, MAP sensor, etc) trying to trace the problem before taking it to a mechanic who threw it on his $10k machine and told me the fuel injector spider was bad. Everything I read said to replace the old poppet style with this newer version which GM switched to on the newer engines anyway. It swaps right in with no problems. Now the truck is running like a champ. I wish I had just swapped this out first, and if you have similar problems, you might want to do the same. There are plenty of DIY articles about doing it, and it's very easy.

Just what I needed to get rid of my random misfire.

I installed this in my 1996 Astro van motorhome at 141K miles. Improved my mpg and got rid of the hesitation while accelerating problem I was having. The new bracket that came with it was obviously not designed for a 1996 engine. There was no way to locate it precisely before tightening the bolt. So I reused my old bracket. Since the upper forward part of the old bracket would contact the new plastic fuel lines (not good), I cut the extensions off the bracket to conform to the design of the new bracket. Be advised if you decide to replace the throttle position sensor, idle control valve, and MAP sensor (like I did) while everything is apart, you should order them from Amazon because they're likely to have the best price. Be sure to use 242 thread locker on all the bolts that originally had thread locker on them.

Faulty Pressure Regulator

This injector came with a fuel pressure regulator. I installed the injector with the regulator and everything was fine for 1 day. My GMC Jimmy was running better... no check engine light... BUT Then all of a sudden while at a traffic light my truck began to idle rough and check engine light came on... white smoke from tail pipe with heavy gas smell... took it to a mechanic who tested fuel pressure. Result was bad/faulty regulator that came with injector... fuel pressure psi was jumping everywhere when for my truck (1996 GMC Jimmy) pressure should be constant 60psi... with a bad or faulty fuel pressure regulator the new injector is worthless as truck will not run because gas will be dumped and come out unburned thru tailpipe.
