Bought this trolly to replace my old 2-wheeled fabric roller board to reduce the strain of pulling it and carrying it down the airplane aisle. Just got back from a business trip with the Delsey and am very pleased. It rolls easily in the terminal and plane. It holds a lot of clothes without looking bulky as many of the fabric ones can be when stuffed (which gets attention from carry-on size checkers). You can expand it if more capacity is needed. I had some reservations before buying due to a review that indicated that it was not well suited (no pun intended) for living out of while at the hotel because of its book-like design. I was happy to see that it fit easily on the suitcase stands in hotel rooms when opened flat. You just have to place it on the stand like a book instead like a ....coffin I suppose. The downside is that there is no external pocket to hold misc items such as receipts and spare change. I put those in my messenger bag now instead (which is usually sitting on the suitcase anyway). Oh, as it's plastic it will show scratches more, but I don't mind wear and tear showing...it just looks well traveled. I have the same case in 29-in and in blue. For this carry-on size, I thought the Titanium looked better. Wished they made this in black for comparison. Also bought the Samsonite Luggage Hyperspace Spinner 21.5 but returned it due to liking this Delsey better (looks better, looks bigger, and holds more without looking bulky). Hope this helps someone.
I was about to not purchase this because of the reviews on how the size is too big for carryon and storing it in the overhead bins but I'm glad I bought it! Used it on 4 domestic flights within the US and was able to store it in the overhead bins. The overall dimensions including wheels and handles: 22.5-23" x 14.5" x 10" with the expansion zipper zipped. I was able to fit the luggage in the 22x14x9 carryon metal bag sizers at the airport. For the 2 by 2 plane seaters, everyone had to stash the luggage the long way because there was no way any 22x14x9 will be able to fit in wheels in anyways. For the 3 by 3 plane seaters, I was able to store it wheels in first and had absolutely no problem! The luggage itself looks sleek and great, smooth spinner wheels, however, dust sticks to it easily but that doesn't bother me much. I would definitely purchase this luggage again in the future or from this brand. I bought the titanium one-size.
I bought this suitcase after reading all the positive reviews. I can't give you the big side-by-side comparison the other reviewers provide because I only ordered one suitcase, and this is it.
The only reasons why I'm keeping this luggage are that it offers maximum storage space for a carry on, and I'm not convinced I can do better for a $100 suitcase.
The materials are super flimsy. My expectations might be too high, but the term "hard-sided" is extremely generous. I have soft sided cases that are more rigid. If you travel with this luggage I hope you never have to check it. It will almost certainly end in a disaster. Think of plastic about the thickness of a milk jug protecting all of your belongings...
Also, please beware that this suitcase is high gloss. Everything is glossy, so be prepared for it to show scratches.
This carry-on looks great and rolls very easily. I have 3 other brand hard cases and these rolls the best so far. I have used these on two older Southwest planes and two newer ones, these had no issues fitting into the overhead bins. For those who don't know the Southwest planes are all three seat configurations on both side. So that mean three seats on the left side of the three seats on the right side, I would assume this luggage would fit on other airlines airplanes that have the same configuration. I don't see these fitting in smaller planes and I am not sure if these will fit into bigger planes either, but I never been on a bigger plane then the 3 seats configs.
When I ordered this luggage the dimensions were listed differently than what I received. I just returned from Italy and was looking for a piece that was, as my daughter calls it, "European Tiny". The dimensions I saw were exactly what I was wanting. I, however, received the standard size carry-on. The carry-on I received is very nice, seems to be well built and the wheels move like a dream. I bought the brick red and like the color really well. I would like to order another one but how can I be certain I receive the size I need?
It's a great carry-on suitcase that fits all my needs. I've only used it a few times and it held up just fine. My only comment would be related to the handle when it's pulled out all the way. it doesn't feel very sturdy but I'll know more as I keep using it.
The design is nice and sturdy but not resistant to scratches and dents. I got a few my first time at the airport but I'll like to think of it as adding character. Its light and easy to carry. But there are limited compartments inside the bag and that can be a hit or a miss for many folks.
In short, this is your basic travel companion and does that job you need it to do but . If I could do it again, I would pay a little more and upgrade to the 19" INTERNATIONAL CARRY-ON SPINNER LUGGAGE. The accessibility is key for someone how would prefer to travel without another bag for my laptop and other books.
I took this with me to Puerto Rico, and it was a really great investment. I've used the two-wheel tow cases for my whole life, and being able to just pull this along next to me was a relief on my arms. It made toting it through the large airports really easy. I loved the zipper compartment, it was a great divider between the main area for clothes and a closed section for things like makeup cases, shoes, hats, etc.
