I've contacted customer service over and over and receive nothing but apologies and inaction. That is, when I was able to contact anyone at all. All of the contact info online and in the machine literature is no longer good. I had two months where I was frantically trying to reach someone, even searching for news online of them going out of business. Eventually I managed to get a response and new contact info via facebook (of all places). It's been a month now since then and neither I or the service guy that they recommended has been able to make any headway. I'll never buy another Delta product.
Product doesn't work as delivered, and is impossible to have serviced.
The first drill press that arrived had an incorrectly wired motor and spun in reverse, the motor also had an internal dragging noise.
I called Delta Tech Support (although the Tech Support phone number on their website was incorrect, the nice lady at the other company gave me the correct number). When I finally got through to Delta after being on hold for about 10 minutes, the lady that answered could not help and transferred me to Tech Support (where I thought I called in the first place). While on hold for about 6 minutes the line cut off. I called back to a recording saying they were closed (10 minutes before closing time). A second call was made another day, The lady I spoke with seemed uninterested in my issue and shortly said to just return the drill press. I returned it.
The second drill press had a damaged package so the receiving company rejected it.
The third drill press arrived; I set it up and aligned the lasers and the table. The belts were so loose the center idle pulley stack had fallen out while in the box. I loosened the adjusting screws and shifted the motor bracket as far as it would go but it wasn't enough to apply belt tension on several of the pulley combinations. The column fit poorly to the base because the bolt holes were not drilled properly to align with the machined surface. The delta cap on the quill return spring housing just fell off in the box and would not stay where it goes. The motor made an internal dragging noise when spun by hand and while spinning down after being turned off. It has been returned as well.
Again I called the Delta Tech Support number, after waiting on hold for about 10 minutes, the man I spoke with seemed very nice and helpful but said he needed to transfer me to Tech Support (he corrected the website phone number while I was on the phone). After waiting on hold for 52 additional minutes I hung up. The third time I called Tech Support, he said he had to transfer me to Tech Support. I told him that I had waited on hold for nearly an hour last time I was transferred, he commented surprised and transferred me, where I hung up after being on hold for 20 minutes. Between the first and last drill press deliveries, I had also emailed Delta through their website 4 separate times and as of now, two months later I have yet to get a response on, for, or about any of them.
