What’s in the box?
- Perch Base
- 1 piece adhesive Velcro
- 2 Legs
- 4 Thumb screws (located on board)
- 4 Washers (located on board)
- Bonus: Extra fleece cover-great for in between washings
Step 1: Attach Legs
Remove all contents from the box. Turn the Window Perch over to expose the wood side and place it on a flat surface so the cover is facing down. Position leg over each set of holes and insert the washer and then thumbscrews. Tighten each thumbscrew so the legs are held in place, but can still be adjusted forward and backward.
Step 3: Apply Fastening Tape
Carefully remove the release paper from the fastening tape and firmly place the fastening tape on the window sill with the adhesive side down. The fastening tape should be placed at least ½ inch from the edge of the window sill. Allow at least one hour for the adhesive to set.
Step 5: Adjust Leg Support
Slide the legs forward or backward as needed so the rubber wall protectors are firmly in contact with the wall and are supporting the Window Perch in a horizontal position. Tighten the thumb screws firmly.
Step 2: Clean Window Sill
Check to make sure the window sill is clean and completely dry. This step is very important to ensure proper bonding of fastening tape to the window sill. The fastening tape is intended to be placed on the window sill and it should be removed from the Window Perch at this time.
Step 4: Place Perch on Sill
Place the Window Perch on the window sill, matching up the fastening tape strip to the strip permanently attached to the front of the Window Perch.
Step 6: Wait 8 Hours Before Use
It is recommended that you allow 8 hours before applying weight to the Window Perch. Please test to make sure the Window Perch is solidly mounted before allowing your pet to use it.

But BEFORE that, she'll have several years of being a happy couch potato on the windowsill, watching birds and passersby. I have gotten one, replaced it when it fell down, gotten another, and replaced it. Each one lasted 3-4 years. The adhesive leaves a little sticky residue on the windowsill but it can be removed with some effort and/or rubbing alcohol.
Alternatively, if you have an older cat and don't want to risk spraining something worse than his/her dignity, you may want to nail it (the shelf, not the cat) or use a stronger adhesive such as superglue.
Oh, yeah, the washable cover is handy.
Within minutes of the first perch's assembly, our cat spotted it connected to the kitchen window. He didnt know if he should jump up on it or not since it was only a few feet away fomr the table and we always freak out when he goes in the table, so my fiance picked him up and placed him on the perch. he immediately started to kneed the perch and purr loudly. He tried rolling over on it, but it isn't big enough for him to roll completely over on.
Now, almost every evening when my fiance and I come home from work, we walk in to find our kitty fast alseep on his perch. We installed the second perch in our computer room, but only allow our cat to go in there when either my fiance or I am with him because the fish tank is in there. When one of us is in the computer room working, our cat hops right on that perch and settles down for a nice long nap.
I prefer the cheaper window perches because even though they are not plush they do the job and do NOT fall down.
I had to move this perch to another window but couldn't find any industrial-strength Velcro to replace the used Velcro on the first window sill. I carefully removed it and it was so sticky it stuck to the other window sill. I left it on the sill without the perch overnight, then attached the perch the next day, and my cats have been jumping on and off it with no mishap for about a month now. I'm impressed with the Velcro included with the perch, although I'll need to find it somewhere for the next move.

This is great!!! The only thing I wish I'd known ahead of time is that there is two-way adhesive you have to put on the window sill you're mounting the cat perch on. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Christine M.

Good sturdy cat perch, although I put the adhesive strip down and also screw the bed into the window frame with 3 screws, cause our cats are especially large!Published 2 months ago by Courtney
Really amazing how much my cat loves this. It replaced a big clunky cat tree that was taking up too much room. She's on it all the time. And she weighs 18 lbs and it is solid. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Linda Brown

It was quite large to fit in a regular window space. It wouldn't stick to the window dependably. Cats really HATE being unexpectedly dumped on the floor...Published 4 months ago by Brown82
