it's ok, but not as heavy as i thought it would be. i bought it although it's not a true demeyere - it's made in china. but i have an induction stove top and needed a sauce pot like this. that said, if i find something better, could easily part with it

I have found it difficult to find a small pot to heat ingredients like say...butter or milk...on an induction cook top.
This fits the bill. Plus it does not take up much storage space. If you have an induction cook top and you need something like this, it is worth having. (We do not have/use a microwave.)

I use this for two purposes - emulsion blending and oven steaming - and it is ideal for both. The emulsion blender fits the pot perfectly, and it can handle plenty of volume without any splatter. But the reason I bought the pot, and the reason I am delighted with it, is for steaming Boston Brown Bread in a bain marie in the oven. I got sick of using the traditional small coffee cans for making the bread. The cans were hard to find unlined, and rusted out quickly. But I wanted to preserve the traditional size and cylinder shape of the bread and could find nothing to replicate the coffee cans until now. This high pot is precisely the right size and shape for Boston Brown Bread. It is oven-safe. It does not have any indentations or tricky rims that would make it tough to unmold the bread. It's ideal.

A final note: I am a long time cook who loathes adding one-use items to my kitchen arsenal. I have to say though, that this pot is proving quite versatile in ways I didn't anticipate. In just the last week, I've used it to steam bread, add more water to the bain marie, emulsify a sauce and keep it warm on a gas stove-top, water some houseplants, put more water in the dog's bowl and hold flowers until I had a chance to arrange them.

The only downside: it is far too expensive!

all it takes is that brand name "Demeyere" on the label as a guarantee that you're going to have a good cooking experience. Works (of course) perfectly well on my Induction stove and certainly on a radiant cooktop. jccampb

I should have read the dimensions better before I purchased this because it is smaller than I thought it would be, but it is a nice saucepot.
