Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Written by a specialist in planning and evaluating library services, this volume in the PLA Results Series offers ways libraries can document the contributions they make to communities. Concepts are expressed in six chapters, from the what, why, and how of outcome measurement to the design of the plan, implementation, and analyses of results. Examples and case studies as well as six "tool kits" offer practical tips on creating evaluations, achieving confidentiality for participants, and preparing and processing results. Fourteen step-by-step work forms^B make it easier for libraries to gather and interpret data. This outcome process gives leaders a way to show accountability and effectiveness so they can demonstrate that libraries change lives and deserve financial support. Patricia Hogan
