I still notice a gap around the leg area on these which I have had leak. A little more material in this area, or perhaps leg gatherers would help with that. Also, I know they are trying to make them more discreet; less padding material is thought to improve in that area, but I find that they bulge a little where the padding ends in the back. If the padding went from the waist band in the front to the waist band in the back; that wouldn't happen, and they would be more absorbent if you are laying on your back.
The price is a bit high too in my opinion. They are about $1.15 each locally for the S/M size, and almost $2.00 each on Amazon for some odd reason. My night time diapers are only 57 cents each and contain much more material. You would think less material would make them cheaper. I guess it's the whole gimmick that makes them more expensive. I usually wait until they are on sale, then stock up on them. I can find them on sale for about 85 cents each or cheaper with coupons locally, which is about what I feel is a fair price.
I would like to also mention the packaging material (Box); I'm not sure why they put them in such an elaborate box.Read more ›
Finally, he let me know and I went on my usual hunt to find the very best to deal with this problem.
We tried quite a few products a couple of years ago, but none of them quite worked. The most significant thing was that the head of his genital was always above any pads and the urine just by-passed them to get his pants wet. The one that seemed the most effective was a tube attached to his genital which allowed to pass the urine into a bag held in place by a specially design pair of undershorts. It seemed too awkward and at the time, it was too infrequent an occurrence that he did not want bother.
Plus we found an herbal remedy that greatly reduced the incidence of sudden urgency. It is called Prostate & Bladder Support, a product developed by Dr. Mercola. I mention it because if you are reading this, you or your loved one may be helped by it.
However, Parkinson's and Peripheral Neuropathy progress over time. And now a few years later, the number of accidents my partner experienced increased to 2-3 times a week. He became reluctant to go out.
So we revisited the tube that fed the urine into a pouch held in place by a special undergarment. This time, my partner felt it was worth the inconvenience (he can get to a rest room at any time and empty it out easily) and we settled on buying the product.Read more ›
Do I need these? Not yet. This was a regular guy's test of this product for future reference.
* Very comfortable waist band
* Unobtrusive - NOBODY will know you're wearing unless you tell them
* Very good at odor suppression
* Very good at liquid retention (single discharge - read below)
* Bunchy feel in the after quarters
* Don't breathe (like cotton) and can get warm
* Good for only one average discharge
* Only good for forward liquid discharge - poopies not recommended
I wore two pair for a couple of days. I could tell the difference between wearing regular cotton jockey shorts, but mostly in the paper feel in the buttocks zone. They were surprisingly comfortable in the waist band (totally no difference from regular underwear) and in the crotchal forward zone where the liquid discharge member lets fly. In the buttal zone it felt, how shall I say, papery? Overall? I could wear these any day, any time with very little discomfort whatsoever. They do retain heat as they don't breathe like cotton, so I find they get warm after 6+ hours per day.
I drank several liters of water (half gallon) and waited. When I was ready, I let fly. Soaked up everything, kept me dry, and no odor. I kept them on for a couple of hours and downed another couple of liters of water (half gallon) and waited. I let fly again.
These DO NOT handle more than one average discharge without leaking. Second discharge? Leakage.Read more ›
