Product Description

Product Description

Medihoney is a special type of honey indigenous to New Zealand, called Active Leptospermum (or Manuka) Honey. This honey has been shown to have unique properties that are advantageous to wound healing, including a low pH and high osmolality. Medihoney is indicated for use on lightly to moderately exuding wounds, or wounds that are difficult to manage due to their odd shape or placement on the body. This non-toxic dressing can be used as a cornerstone for wound bed preparation, and throughout all the phases of wound healing.

Wow! That's all I gotta say. WEll, not really. You see, I had five different wounds on me that would not close up for ANYTHING. I tried EVERYTHING too. Finally, I was turned on to manuka honey. I chose Medihoney brand and honestly, within 3 hours, my wound was closing up. It was a Godsend. My wounds had been open for 2.5-3 months. It was unbelievable. I am on a plastic surgery forum and it is amazing what manuka honey has done for the women on that chat board. Huge wounds that just closeup in no time! I'm a believer and will always have it in my household from here going forward in life!

I first learned of this product when my father-in-law's surgeon used it to dress his wound after a toe amputation. His wound has healed very well with this paste. It seems to allow the wound to heal from the inside to the outside. I use it for large leg ulcers when they erupt. The ulcers heal more quickly with this product. Extensive search on the web revealed that Amazon had the best price for this product.

I had a c section and it healed incorrectly. They reopened it and the visiting nurse suggested the medihoney. In two days my incision went from 6 cm deep to 4 cm deep. An area that was healing the worst it was almost completely controlled. I am still in the process of healing but the result so far is amazing.

My wife is diabetic and therefore very slow to heal. She recently spent two weeks in the hospital and left with a large hole in her thigh that the Dr's said would take several months to heal. After using this product her would is all but healed up completely in only 1 month. Even the Dr's were amazed. Whoever invented this stuff did a fantastic job.

My daughter has had a stage 2 (going on 3) pressure sore for the last 11 months or so. She has been followed by a wound care specialist at Loma Linda Medical Center (Southern California). He had been treating it with various gels and ointments with little success. The wound started 'tunneling' so I had to start packing the wound daily with 1/4" packing strip mixed with santyl. It didn't seem to be getting any better so he had us consult with a plastic surgeon for possible surgery. My daughter had this same problem in the same area 3 years before and required plastic surgery which resulted in her having to be bed bound and home schooled for all of the 6th grade.

On a follow up visit to the wound care specialist he recommended using medi-honey instead of the santyl. Within 8 weeks the wound was healed! I couldn't believe it. The doctor too was surprised at how quickly it worked. Needless to say my daughter was thrilled knowing she wouldn't need the surgery.

I originally thought the reviews I read on it were probably somewhat exaggerated but I can truthfully say this stuff works great! Not cheap but well worth it. I would highly recommend this product!

I found out about two months ago that I had a staph infection. There was one spot on my leg that just would not heal. The doctor put me on round two of antibiotics that didnt seem to do anything. So I decided that I would do research and see what I could do myself rather than be sent to a wound center that they were talking about. Manuka honey kept coming up in my research. So of course I did the shopping around for the best price and came across it on Amazon. I didnt want to spend too much in case in didnt work. I had started with changing the bandage twice a day with liquid vitamin every day. I love vitamin e but it didnt seem to help much. I have used the MediHoney for exactly one month. I read a review that someone mentioned that "it's healing from the inside out". That describes it perfectly. The wound that had left a hole in my leg has almost closed completely. It is truly amazing and definetly a life saver. I would recommend this product to anyone.

This product helped close wounds left over from back surgery that did not respond to normal treatments, including hyperbaric chamber sessions.

Excellent product and helped heal some very difficult wounds. As a nurse that has performed wound care for over 40 years I am able to evaluate a good product and resulting wound healing so I give this high marks. I'd definitely recommended it for wound care.
