Okay, so 80 bucks seems like a lot of money to plunk down for an at-home microdermabrasion kit...especially when everyone from Homedics to L 'Oreal is marketing a more cost-friendly version of what appears to be the same EXACT thing. However, experience (and lots of money not-so-well spent) has taught me that, in most cases, you generally get what you pay for. Case in point: a few months ago I finally made the decision to trade in my 99 cent ultra-black mascara for a high-end name brand version of the same product...I immediately discovered that mascara-induced racoon eyes really can be avoided! Who knew? After that, I vowed never to pinch pennies when it comes to beauty. Now there are, of course, some exceptions; my mother swears by Oil of Olay -as do I- but when you're talking about microderabrasion, a proceedure that can cost as much as $150 per session, it's hard to believe that you can achieve the same exact results with something that is a mere fraction of the cost.

Skeptical but desperate for youthful looking skin, I opted to splurge on the DermaNew Facial Rejuvenation System. Prior to my purchase, I did a fair amount of research so I knew that what I was getting the crème de la crème of the more than twenty-plus versions that I had to choose from.

Just two weeks after using it, I began to notice that my once sallow complexion (thanks to stress, lack of sleep and yo-yo dieting) had been replaced with a healthy glow. Now my skin looks soft and peachy, kind of like it did when I was twelve...you know, when youth and beauty was effortless...sigh!

All in all this product is best for someone with little to no skin flaws.

At first I was hesitant to ante up the $ to purchase the dermanew system, but after a few friends raved about it, I decided to buy it.

The system includes a battery operated applicator tool (batteries are included), sponge tops for the tool, and dermabrasion cream.

You pop a sponge on top of the applicator, put cream on it and apply to your dampened skin. I set a timer for 3 minutes and work the applicator around the surface of my skin.

The results are great! Dead skin is sloughed off, circulation is stimulated and the results are glowing soft skin.
My skin looks lovely and feels smooth to the touch. It felt soft and wonderful after the very first application!

Dermanew sells other applicator sponges and creams separately to use with the applicator tool on your hands and feet.

Though the initial price tag seems high, this tool will last for years and help you to glowing skin! I highly recommend it.

I paid $70 for the DermaNew microdermabrasion system at home, and after using it for a couple of times I can honestly say that is not worth the money. You can accomplish the same results you get with this system, by using any other cheaper system for sale out there, like Neutrogena or simply rubbing oatmeal on your face!
On top of that, you CANNOT find the replacement foam applicators for the face by themselves, the company discontinued the sale of applicators alone!???. Isn't this ridiculous? The only face applicator available comes as a set with a body applicator and a brush which you never really use and have no need to buy them again and will cost you another $15 for cheaply made pads that disintegrate after 3-4 uses.

Love the microdermabrasion cream that came in this 5-piece system. Disappointed in the machine as it isn't much better than the $5.00 Dove machine, but I am using it to apply the cream. I do like the teardrop shaped application pad. It does not use rechargeable batteries. I perfer the microdermabrasion skin machine I purchased from Sharper Image for half the price with more attachments that uses rechargeable batteries . . . but I really like the DermaNew cream.

I purchased this little wonder after advise that I received from Kandee the makeup artist on youtube. My boyfriend thought I was crazy for listening to some chick on youtube. But I proved him wrong. My face after using this product is amazing! The brush looking side is a deep cleaner that I have been using daily and the crystal microderm abrasion formula I have used once. Kandee recomended using the microderm abrasion part once a week which I think is all I will need, but I will continue to use the deep cleaning brush everyday. Best 70.00 I have ever spent for a cleaner healthier complexion. I would recommend this to everyone and I have!

I have tried anything and everything to get rid of the acne and scarring on the sides of my face. Nothing worked too well.

This works wonders, though. You actually get a really good deal for the prices: the tool itself with a low and high setting, a brush head, a tear-dropped shaped sponge head (to reach harder areas of your face), a larger tear-dropped shaped sponge head (for body scrubbing!), the sensitive skin microdermabrasion scrub, double a batteries, and a stand so your tool isn't lying around on your counter.

The dermabrasion tool itself is so convenient. It has two settings; low and high, so either you can do a deep cleanse or intense microdermabrasion. When you press the power button, a red light comes on, indicating that it will automatically shut off in two minutes. Press the button again, and you can go to town on your face as long as you want!

I like having two different heads to choose from. I use the brush for cleaning my face and the tear-drop thing (which can be compared to a foam foundation wedge) for microdermabrasion. My tear-drop has no signs of wear and tear, and I make sure to clean it every time I use it.

When you use the sensitive-skin scrub that comes with, it really does work wonders. The scrub is so gritty, it's even finer than sand, and when you work it onto your dry face you can definitely feel your old skin getting "sanded" off.

I use this daily. I use the brush in the morning just for cleaning, but I use the tear drop shape at night. My acne and scarring have definitely lessened. I have had just one pimple pop up since I started using this, and I used to have breakouts all the time!
