About Deryn Pittar
I write fantasy, romance, cozy mystery, Young Adult, Sci.Fi.and short stories and flash fiction. I am published in all of these genre. I also dabble in poetry and have recently tried my hand at writing short pieces of horror.
I belong to several writing groups and book clubs. I am an avid reader. I enjoy helping emerging authors and read the work of fellow authors, and they read mine. In this way we help each other get our plot lines in order and our characters believable.
I live in New Zealand. It looks isolated but with the internet we are moments away from anywhere in the world. A collection of islands we have a democratic government and produce a lot of food which we sell around the world. The population is seriously outnumbered by sheep and cows - and I'm still looking for the hobbits.
I hope you enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them.

For lovers of sweet romance this is a collection to entertain and amuse.
It begins with the novella:
"Escorts for Hire - Heartaches Free":
Lexi is offered a position as a quality controller for 'Memorable Men' an agency to provide company to discerning women, set up by her friend Jess. How hard can it be to be wined, dined and entertained by attractive men? It might even fix her bruised ego from a disastrous romance. Anything is better than driving a coffee machine while she decides what to do with her life - but is it as easy as it sounds? She agrees to give it a month's trial.
Sadly, the assessments aren't any more fun than making espresso. The first subject, Jeremy Miller, gets the ‘Aunt Freda special treatment’ and Lexi manages to send him running for the last train back to the city. Her second assessment with Nicholas Forsyth is ruined by an accidental meeting with her ex-fiancé Simon.
Back at the cafe, things get more complicated when Jeremy looks her up wanting another chance. When Jess says Simon has applied to Memorable Men to be an escort, Lexi is forced to explain why she broke off their engagement and why Jess shouldn’t hire him. 'And', Jess wants to know 'why is Jeremy no longer available to work for her? '
The collection continues with five short stories:
The Irish Wish Foundation:
Connor’s latest assignment is to arrange for two shy hopefuls to meet and thereby grant their wishes. It will take all his expertise and a little magic. Then there’s Suzy, proposing marriage, unaware of his real job. It’s not easy being a leprechaun.
The Naked Truth:
Becca and Kate win a weekend for two at a nudist colony. This creates more problems than they'd bargained for. Despite practicing being naked - nothing prepares them for the real thing!
The Burglar:
Kelly is a non-nonsense security guard, working the late shift, competent and sceptical of the stories criminals tell. But this burglar is a little different. He doesn’t seem to scare easily and why is she attracted to him’? After all, he’s a burglar and she’s just caught him in the act.
Plumb Lovely:
‘Love will come if you stop looking for it’, so her mother said. It’s the weekend and Miranda has a plumbing problem. She is delighted someone is prepared to solve her problem. What she doesn’t expect is the Adonis who arrives. Surely he can’t be a plumber?
The Braille Reader:
Christina is partially-sighted and works in the city. Concerned about her mother’s deteriorating health and thinking extra company may help, she invites a friend to become their boarder. This is a successful and despite her mother’s constant complaints about feathers she is grateful for Aaron’s care and concern for her mother. What she doesn’t plan on is her attraction to him. Is it mutual? Sometimes, being partially-sighted is a curse, sometimes a blessing.
