These beautifully broken, uniquely complex and puzzling characters will leave your heart breaking and your mind spinning. You will want to scream, cry, and fight for Solomon and Chaos. A story where your fight or flight reaction will be engaged during the entire digestion of each written word.
The vividly painted scenes will make you feel as though you could reach out and run your hand in the fur of the wolf, have you panting and out of breath with Solomon as he searches the woods. The words will wrap themselves around you like a vine, entangling and encompassing your very being. The twists within the storyline are like walking in the woods that surround Solomon's home deep, dark, mysterious but addicting and amazingly wonderful.
If you have read other works by Lucian Bane you will not be disappointed with the story of Solomon. Unlike any of his other stories this was a delicious surprise and something I am glad to have read. Now I wait and want like so many others for more of this epic tale.
Lucian has introduced the reader to some wonderful characters in his previous books, and the ones we meet here are just as good.
Solomon is a remarkable man, full of understanding and compassion. He is still trying to process his life after losing someone precious. He is quiet and unassuming but he holds a personal strength that will take him far.
Chaos is an extraordinary woman who has lead a life that most others would never survive. She does not even recognise her own qualities.
The Master is a man who you would never want to meet in a darkened alley. He is evil personified.
This book is engrossing from beginning to end, in true Lucian style. It would have to be the best book that he has written yet.
The only problem I had with this novel was the ending - it's a cliffhanger!!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!!! Lucian how could you do that to me!!!!!
Lastly I just want to say, thank you Lucian for writing such a spellbinding story. I cannot wait for the next installment.
Starting out, I was immediately sucked in. I couldn’t seem to stop reading page after page, wanting more and wanting to know what in the world was happening. There were so many times I was left with my mouth hanging open, screaming why or what is happening. I was shocked to my core at the twisted situations Lucian wrote about, but at the same time, I loved every second of it. I’m a bundle of emotions and I’m left hanging, confused, and worried for what will come next. Throughout the entire book, it kept me pulled in, wondering the whole time what was going on. I’m very good at figuring out the endings of books, but with this one…yeah I’m still left wondering. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book and it kept my interest as much as this one did.
Solomon has become my all-time favorite character. He’s everything you would want to see in a book like this. Strong but kind. Although he goes through some painful times in his past, he still finds himself helping others and making sure they are cared for. I loved that. Chaos, well she’s another story. I really liked her too, but I can’t even begin to explain her without giving anything away. I can’t spoil this amazing story for you guys. All I can tell you is to go buy this book. You have to see for yourself why this book is highly addictive.
I thought The Mercy Trilogy was my favorite from Lucian, but I’ve been proven wrong with this one.Read more ›
