Leigh Podgorski's DESERT CHIMERA is an exciting read. Manyplaces in the book were at such a tempo I couldn't put it down or turn thepages fast enough. A wonderfully constructed mix of mystery, intrigue, andaction, spiced with just the right touch of the supernatural. You never knowwhat will happen next. Have fun! Read the book.

Leigh Podgorski's DESERT CHIMERA, is a chilling epic battle both psychological and physicalthat takes place in the heart of Death Valley between Luke Stone and hisnemesis, the black magician Armand Jacobi.
Podgorski develops her tale step by step and twist by twist.
As the novel drives to its conclusion, we wonder who willwin in this epic battle of wills and good versus evil.
From the Author
For me, Desert Chimera, more than anything else, is an exploration of relationships: the relationship between Luke and Armand, between Luke and Consuelo, between good and evil, between physical and metaphysical, normal and paranormal.
I was explaining what it was like for me when I am writing to a dear friend. I told him, "I can create the world I want to create; make the characters do whatever I want them to do (for the most part); have things come out exactly the way I want them to come out. When I enter that world, I am gone. It is the best high I could possibly have."
He looked at me and replied, "You're a marathon runner."
That's about the best definition I've heard.
Just like marathon runners, I believe writers enter the "zone." And when we do-- there is nothing on earth like it.
