Desert Fate is, as the rest of the series, a wonderful book. Your get a great storyline as well as an emotional rollercoaster ride.
Growing up as neighbors as military kids, they are all to familiar with each others past. After years apart them happen to come across each other during a time of struggle.
Can they let their childhood friendship go to become what they are fated to be? Can they let themselves become Mates?
Find out. You will love this series.
Once human, Kyle was forcibly turned while on the job as a police officer. He eventually found his way to the Twin Moon Ranch wolf pack, but has never really felt a part of the group. He's kept to himself and has a place on the edge of the property. Now on vacation from his new law enforcement job, he sees a body out in the desert and is shocked when the 'body' not only turns out to be alive, but it also just happens to belong to a blast from his past. One that stirs up feelings he thought he'd never have.
While on a special job assignment, Stef was attacked and is now on the run. She seems pulled toward Arizona and the feeling of 'rightness' only increases the closer she gets to Twin Moon Ranch. When her car breaks down, she has no choice but to continue on foot and finds herself in a bit of a bind in the desert until Kyle comes along. It doesn't take her long to figure out that her rescuer is none other than her childhood friend and neighbor, but she is shocked at how he's changed...and the pull she feels toward him.
Now reunited, can Kyle and Stef work through past issues (and a pretty big new one) and start looking toward the future? Can they save Stef from the looming threat of her attacker returning for her, and will they be able to find the 'home' each has been searching for?
This a great addition to the series and I look forward to reading more.
*I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
It’s about Kyle Williams, a turned wolf, finding his mate. We know him from Desert Blood, where he helps to save Heather. In this book, it’s Stefanie Alt. Both knew each other as kids, given their family military backgrounds. Then moving away and losing touch.
Stefanie has had the misfortune of running into the neighbouring pack through her work and being bitten against her will by Ron. She flees and ends up being found by Kyle when her car breaks down. As time passes they re cap on each of their past lives, before the truth comes out about her being attacked.
There is some angst with Twin Moon resident senior males, but their mates are more sympathetic towards Stefanie. She also learns the consequences of having the first bite and despite being adamant she will not go back, the pull is soon felt.
She also feels drawn to Kyle, as he is towards her, where they soon give into their desires and need. Each having their own private conversations with their wolves. :)
It does all come to a head, when Greer and Ron turning up at Kyles’ home, just outside the Ranch boundaries. Having decided they would not wait for the Elders to decide. Needless to say, good overpowers evil with both Kyle and Stefanie dealing out that justice.
This book is a great read and follows on well from the last one. I loved it as I have all so far, enjoying the characters we are meeting and getting to know them as they all grow within their new lives, mates and family. The book flows very well and keeps the reader drawn into the story as it unfolds.
I’m itching for more of these Wolves. :)
