About the author

I call Austin, Texas home now after working on the East and West coasts, the Rocky Mountains, and an island in the Gulf of Mexico. I've come full circle to live and work close to the farm my family settled in the 1850's.
Truth is stranger than fiction, and years in the news business provided lots of peculiar characters and stories to write about. My books are set in my favorite places, the desert canyons and high mountains of the American West.

Overall, I would have loved the book of it would have been better edited.
I liked this story. Liked how it gave us some of the inner workings of The Nation.
The story concept itself was nice. It had a good flow to it most of the time. There were parts that seemed to drag for me, that I found myself skimming.
Sam started off as a likeable character, then he turned into an @$$ for a while. Jordan forgave him way to quickly in my opinion. I would have made him grovel a bit.
This is book 2 of the series but can be read as a stand alone. The characters were written well for the most part, the storyline was interesting and the descriptions to details were nicely done but a little over the top in some areas and not enough in others. As for the hot naughty bits, no heat what so ever. A touch here, a grab there and bam, all done.
So, would I recommend this book? Yes
Would I read more from this author? Probably, because I did enjoy the first book and liked this for the most part.

The overall plot of trafficking was well done and brought to light in a way that tugs at your heart string and wants you to do something and cheer for the people who fight this injustice.
A well written book that kept me on the edge, I would read more from this author.
I received a copy of this book from Reading alley and publisher and voluntarily reviewed it.
