The story is told with a lot of enthusiasm and vigor. It is page turning story and I can’t wait to read book 7 of series. The characters are fully developed and very unique in the way they are presented. It is a great book that one can spend the weekend and every free time reading.
This file needs to be edited. several sections of the book are repeated. eg, chapter 10 starts with the last section of chapter 9 and the following sections are disjoined and make no sense
In this book, the main story focuses on the Atlas being sent to a planet far out on the edge of the RIM called Enki. This planet is populated by a race with 5 distinct factions, and there is something there that those in the Confederacy will want desperately. But members of the Enkians will also see this as an opportunity as well, one that may cost the Atlas crew dearly. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, as this is a really great story, as are all of Rudnick’s works.
Rudnick does a really great job of creating fascinating alien cultures, with quite diverse, unique aliens, and the most amazing cultures, and the Enkians are brilliant in their descriptions.
The story focuses heavily on the Enkians, the Atlas main characters, including the new XO, Condo, and some of the Barony and a RIM Ambassador. It is a fascinating political, military and personal interplay between multiple characters, each with their own agenda’s, and Rudnick is exceptionally clever in his dialogue and interactions between these characters to give us another outstanding story.
There are some really thrilling bits in this book, and some really gripping moments with main characters, meaning that you don’t want to put the book down once you start.
Editing problems in the version I downloaded in KU. Two sections repeated for several pages. The Dinner hosted on the Atlas and Bram's trial. (This has been fixed - thank-you)
Look forward to a stronger book 7. Can only give this one 3 stars.
UPDATE: I called Kindle Fire Customer Services from my Kindle Help Screen. They overrode the problem and did a forced reload of the whole book, so I can now read it from Kindle Free. Great Job Amazon !
