- Artist's name
- Artist art style (Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Post Modern, etc)
- Artist's niche (Furniture, ceramics, wall art, etc)
Otherwise, this book is a coffee table book, not a reference book. I like this book for the fun of flipping through the pages, but if I want to build a piece of furniture and am looking for Arts and Crafts inspiration then I go to the internet. There is no way for me to efficiently use this book as a reference. This book is sorted by artist last name only. The appendix is sorted by artist. There is no way to quickly find a style or niche.
I do enjoy seeing the different artists that I may otherwise never know about. If I do like their specific vision then I can start down the rabbit hole of internet searches, looking for books specifically about that person / design, etc. In that case, this book is pretty cool.
I give it 3 stars because it isn't what I expected based on the description. Otherwise, the book is well made, has a book marker, and the photos are of good quality.
