Sad that companies have to be deceptive on almost everything these days even for such a simple product. Guess it works as a lot of people just like me don't want to bother with returning it. Amazon should consider a "review this product" for themselves where if enough of us complain about a product it's automatically scrutinized by them.
There is no guide for the wire, so when winding it back in, you end up fighting the wire to keep it on the spool.
As much as I gripe, I can't say the thing doesn't work. It's nice to have your cord all nice and coiled up, easy to carry from place to place, easy to unwind when you need it. I opted for this instead of the one with the stand because I thought it would be better to have the male end peeking out of one the holes. While that does indeed work, you still should unwind it all the way to use it because of the heat buildup.
The reels that come on a stand are easier to reel up because you can stand/kneel on the feet of the reel and provide the tension I mentioned earlier with your non-reel hand. I will continue to use this for the lighter gauge extension cord that I use to power my leaf blower/vac, but the heavy duty 100 foot cord I have for my snow blower is on a reel on a stand, and that works out a lot better.

Purchased 3 of these for an outside pa system. Speaker cords were always time consuming and hard to keep untangled. This solved my problem and is very fast to unroll or take up. Read morePublished 9 months ago by Terry Strong
I'm gonna use this to wind my electric fence wire on when I take down my garden this fall, should do the trick, and I'll be able to use the wire again next season.Published 12 months ago by MR
