Tom Mahl holds a doctorate in diplomatic history from Kent State University, where his dissertation was directed by prominent NATO scholar Lawrence S. Kaplan. He is the author of three well received books: Desperate Deception: British Covert operations in the United States 1939-1944; Espionage's Most Wanted and the Spitball/Knuckleball Book. He worked for 40 years as a general assignment photographer and sometimes writer for the Elyria (Ohio) Chronicle Telegram. His freelance work has appeared in over 50 publications, from Popular Mechanics to Friends of Wine. During a 30-plus year career as a college instructor he taught more than 20 different courses, Including Intelligence and National Security. During the last two decades, his teaching focus has been on economics and geography.

He lives in Elyria, Ohio.

    If you thought that FDR did not try to get us into world war II read this book. It demonstrates quite clearly the he used every trick that he could to get us into the war. It also shows that England had a major intelligence network in the United
    States from about early 1940. This worked in conjunction with the White House using high level government officials and the Rockefeller family.

    FDR persisted in this even though he knew that England could not be forced to surrender by the Germans after the failure of the German air offensive in September 1940.. He hated the Germans and wanted to see them defeated no matter what the cost. There would have been no World War II for America if he had left things alone. The Germans would have gone East as they originally intended to, but were forced to shore up their rear areas, England and France before doing this.

    I would suggest reading Herbert Hoover's memories and Day of Deceit: The Truth About FDR and Pear Harbor to get a more complete picture of the machinations of FDR to get the US into World War II.

    It really is incomprehensible to me how one man could be so callous as to deliberately start a war in which millions would die or be seriously wounded. I really do wonder what will happen to his immortal soul on the day of judgement.

    British agents and many members of America's Eastern elite worked hard to create propaganda and mold American public opinion in favor of entering WWII. They managed to get the USA to support Britain​ financially and to at least get America more prepared for the war. Senator Arthur Vanderberg literally got seduced out of isolationism by a female British agent and got a USAF base named after him as a result.

    How far will elites in and around government go to persuade you? Very far. Read this book and see.

    This is an eye-opener. It reveals how much the British were involved in moving the opinions of the American people towards entering WWII on the side of the British empire. The major opinion polls of the time were completely controlled by scores, if not hundreds, of undercover agents. Even the White House was influenced by their efforts!

    Recommended especially for those who lived in the WWII era, blissfully unaware of how we got snookered into their war(at least until Pearl Harbor).
